I have nothing against the "O" rings, except I prefer collecting the modern era style figures. It seems with the releases of the ROC film and the Resolute mini-series, it seems like a better time to offer figures from either source. Like, why not offer a Resolute Lady Jaye or a ROC Hawk in wheelchair. Just my opinion. What do you think?

Because the club has always made o ring figures for o ring collectors. Last year they tried to please Modern Era collectors by making one of their more popular sets in modern style.

I like the O-rings but I understand why people want the new style. I was expecting modern-era figures so I was surprised to see these. Oh well, let's hope something more exciting lies down the road.

last years con sets were the best that has ever been made in my humble opinion. not only were they modern era but they were the international figs. if only that had made the mortals and deaco.

i liked them, but they didn't sell well. i usually buy two sets, con 09 was the first time i had bought just a single set. i like both styles, but i had tons of modern vipers, didn't see the need for more. this year i have ordered 2 sets, i am really exited about this. to each their own.

O-ring is cheaper and molds are easier for them to rip off from by people who can do thier casts and what not. I am sure Hasbro has the 25/ME stuff listed up to them at a huge premium and offered them this as an alternative. They have to pick and choose and after all the O-ring collectors complained they listened...no more 25th/ME in favor of the O-ring batardization of the figures. It's ok, no need to support the con if they not going to provide me with a 25th/ME articualted figure of the same O-rings offered.

There will always be collectors who want the o-rings.
There will always be collectors who want the modern. There will always be collectors who want the 12". There will always be collectors who want the sigma six. There will never be collectors who want the extreme. The more different styles of GI Joe's that Hasbro make's, the more dificult it becomes to please everybody and the club can only do so much. |
