I just saw a thread somewhere talking about this awesome version of Stalker and his heavily armed kayak that he was packaged with. How insane is it that a regularly priced figure came with an entire VEHICLE as his accessory??
Anyway, I never had any Joe figures as a kid. I only got to experience them vicariously at friends' houses. When I graduated college in 2000, I started to build my own vintage collection off ebay, slowly acquiring a piece at a time. This kick ass version of Stalker was one of them. I don't think it ever actually occurred to me to TRY the boat out in actual water. I haven't even seen this figure in almost 20 years cause it's been in storage. Well, I finally pulled it out, filled up the bathroom sink, and had a try.... Look at that!! Stalker still floats!! Man, that must have been one of the best toys ever for a kid of the (late) 80s....for like $3.50 you get an awesome figure with a gun and mask and knife, but he ALSO comes with a giant boat with a cool-ass mounted machine gun and the thing really FLOATS too!! What a magical toyline this was. |

That figure was the best value of any figure I ever saw of any line. Not only did he have his own vehicle and arsenal, he also had a nice Jason hockey mask that gave him a more destroy everything aura. I had that Stalker and the Cobra stealth raft life boat thing and my friend and I had a race with them in water.
