so what are your pet peaves when trying to buy or sell your collectables?
my worst are collectors who search endless to find what they are looking for , then don't buy when they are available, then complain later that they still dont have and then who always claim they will pay top dollar , then try to pretend you are asking too much ,even though noone else is even selling what they are after |

Do you mean our pet peeves as collectors or our pet peeves toward other collectors?

oooh, good one. how about people who try to define what a "true" or "real" collector is. i hate that. there will be a new thread about it every once in awhile.

When people look at me. I don't mean funny I mean just look at me. I also hate being approached by staff at a store. I was approached three times at Walmart in the Electronics it made me piss, I was bothered four times by the Swarvoski crystal store. I don't like being bothered when I have a general idea of what I like just like me look and when I find what I want that screams buy me for blah I'll do it.

A big one of mine is when people don't know what they want me to pay for something. There is a local, we will call it a shop I guess at a flea market, where the guy never has anything priced. I ask him how much he wants for (insert item here) and he says, hmm.. I'll have to look. Then he goes on ebay, gets distracted by other customers, talks about whatever is going on that day, etc.
One time he actually took 20 minutes before he said he had an idea but wasn't sure what it was worth and refused to sell it to me. I literally bought the figure 3 months later when another guy was running the store for the day, for way less than the owner was speculating before. The kicker, he often has stuff I want, it is just painful to try to give him my cash.

I always open everything,no matter what. But whenever they release new G.I.Joe figures in the classic style packaging,I like to get two in order have one to open and one to keep mint-on-card to preserve the artwork.(Which helps reminds of the 80's when everything toy-wise was awesome.) It would always upset me when a Target or Toys-R-Us cashier would manhandle the 25th Anniversary single carded figures I was purchasing. Of course they mostly don't care if a "toy collector" gives them a stink-eye afterward. Though the RoC/Ret & Renegades package makes it a non-issue. (I purchased doubles of the Collector Club's FSS figures since they have the classic style cards)
