I had the CP with Falcon sealed up forever now and just got bored and decided to open it.
Now...the N.E. figure looks GREAT and I love the character, but I gotta tell ya, displaying this guy is a maddening experiance. Getting his wings in was feat in itself, keeping the tentacles on along WITH the wings is just a pain in the ass and when I finally got it "set up"...all the weight on his back wont let him display normally unless I put him up against something. Gonna have to get creative here..... Anyone else have this problem with that figure?? |

Yeah, that figure gave me the same trouble. The wings and tentacles aren't meant to on at the same time, but I manage to do it with some manipulation. A lot of forward lean is needed to get him to stand without back support. Good luck.

Add some super glue to the hip ball sockets or balls of the T-bar so that his hips have less freedom.
It's the hips that make him fall over(and being so top heavy with the wings in place) so if you can tighten those he can stand better without falling over....as much.

I've been thinking about gluing a small wieght to the bottom of the stand, but I can't find a thin enough material that has enough mass density. If you use anything thicker than a few millimeters, then NE looks like he's up on a pedestal, and that guy already has a big enough ego as it is.

Can you use a think wire (paperclip) to re-enforce the legs? That way you don't need to glue anything. You can see the paperclip behind him, but it doesn't look any worse than a stand.

You don't have to permanently glue anything. What they mean is you add a drop of glue to the joint and then continuously move the joint while the glue dries. This will make the joint stiffer and you will still be able move the leg. Works for knees, hip t-bars, and any joint really. Just be sure not to let it dry up in a fixed position. As to adding weight to the base that would have to be something like a lead or copper sheet. Maybe a coin? Or one of those thin magnets? |
