like many of the talented customizers around the site i always have something on the go, but what i'm wondering is do you just grab figs off your shelves or do you buy figures and parts exclusively for this purpose???
i do try to get what i need for customs from other members or from a store but quite often i'll look at the loose stuff i have on the shelf or even break open moc stuff if a figure has that something i NEED in order to get the job done ! how about you, how do you go about this meticulous business? |

Only if I know I'm going to make the money back to buy the figures again by selling the custom. Like, I turned Killer Moth into Quakemaster, sold it for $60, so I could Buy Moth back and like 4 other figures too.

My shelf has a bunch of modifieds and customs on it. The ones that mean a lot to me get duplicates and put in my fire-bag. So far the only Joe's are my RoC Flint and Lady Jaye (v8--untouched!).

My first response is that I mostly buy new figures (because I seem to be constantly buying things for customs). Then I looked at my shelf and noticed more than half of my main figures (not army builders) have been customized. So yeah, I guess I do grab things off my shelf to work on.
