I believe so. There was supposed to be a Joe Live Stream earlier this year in February but it was pushed to March. There was no mention of o-ring during that live stream so I just stopped waiting around and moved on.

You laugh, but there was a dude that pretty regularly had a new custom made out of those big dumb figures well until he died. He was asked about why he used those figures and one reason was he could get an abundance of them pretty cheaply.
I can't remember his name. He was on joecustoms. I laughed back in 25th era when folks were dumping vintage ARAH and new sculpts for the new thing. You could get stuff sooo cheap from ebay. Quote:
Also they ripped the rhino and gave it unaltered to the 2" line so there was reason for some people to want to modify that hawk shaped stupid thing.

Joecustoms...is that still around?

The Rhino was on the cartoon but I guess not re-released for the 2.5" line. (I can't find it online if it was). It was recolored for Rise of Cobra.

Joecustoms was great, lots of goofing off and people having fun with their toys.
I was never a customizer but I hung out there because the place had a good vibe. It was never the same after they upgraded the board and switched admins. I think it still exists but have no idea if it's really alive.

it's roughly the same people that were posting there back then posting now. when marauder and modern customs took over, i stopped visiting. and then i started lurking again recently to boost the o-ring kickstarters and it's still the same content from exactly the same people.
if anything it's a time capsule for 2007. the other dude is right about the rhino, i kept thinking the bluish one was a sigma6 release. i was digging around on yojoe.com this morning trying to find the little jeep vehicle i was thinking about but that section is a disaster, with the added benefit of thing i dont particular care to put too much energy into looking into. i'd feel the same about a modern sculpt non o-ring gijoe figure thing, so it's not just that it's sigma6. If I'm not mistaken I did see the ROCC in-person on shelves during the S6 years but I don't think I saw the ROC RHINO, seems like I remember it was HTF cause people who discovered it but didn't get it during DTC jumped on it

I'm still confident that we'll get more o-rings eventually. It's something that they can always come back to.
Plus, I just noticed that Emily said this in April of 2022 here: Hi all -- Wanted to just comment with a couple of clarifications! - The o-ring cardback two-packs are specifically for the 40th-anniversary celebration and will only be available in 2022. New packaging and expanded line reboot for o-rings will happen in 2023, when the rest of the line is officially all plastic-free packaging. https://www.hisstank.com/forum/5525705-post6648.html So we still have 6 months to wait at least. |

I respect your optimism, but sadly do not share it. Not saying you're wrong, but corporate strategy can change on a dime, and what was true then may be canceled now.
