Also guessing that the sheer popularity of officially produced o-rings will drive the stretch figures to fairly high aftermarket pricing. I could see dealer types successfully parting these things out, down to the unique sticker sheets (until ToyHax makes their version, at least).
And if they somehow decide to CARD the figures? Get out here. I really wonder on that part, JUST because they're offering with the Mando Wars one and I'm convinced many Joe fans are JUST as package-obsessed as SW fans. WE SHALL SEE. |

The fact that Ripcord is present in what appears to be his original parts lends credit to that. I may be mistaken, but I don't believe any of his parts, acc included, were used in the post ARAH runs.
I have a thread here on the subject: https://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-j...rah-molds.html Even if they still have any of the old molds, I'm betting the move to Vietnam for production made making new tooling seem like a better idea. Why hunt for old molds and have that clog up production? I like that it means that, theoretically, any figure is fair game. |

I have a thread here on the subject: https://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-j...rah-molds.html They use in-house 3D printers etc. There was a Transformers video that Hasbro produced showing the whole process. They don't cast from old toys now. Just hi-resolution, industrial-grade digital imaging. GREAT thread, BTW. |

I BELIEVE all the Hasbro figures, including retros, are started digitally (either from modeling software or scans) now.

Just hi-resolution, industrial-grade digital imaging. GREAT thread, BTW. That's exactly what I'm thinking, which is what makes the prospect of a new o-ring line so exciting. We're no linger beholden to that list of existing parts and all of the "Vipers with BAT legs" that comes with it. As a side more, if this picks up any steam, I'd imagine the prices on some of the ARAH figures begin to plummet. I hope so, Ill be buying 'em up like mad!

I enjoy action figures, and my collecting is only nominally influenced by nostalgia. I still want today’s technologies in my toys. Though, like everyone, concessions are often required. But you guys don’t need to jump my shit. Buy whatever you want.

Like I said, I hope the fact that they're no longer limited to what old molds are left means a bunch of figures that didn't see reissues in the 97-05 era. |

I'm most excited about two things:
1. AFFORDABLE, brand new copies of childhood favorites to futz with. 2. NEW figures made in this classic aesthetic. |

I’m guessing it’s a safe bet that they’ll do classic Ripcord at some point

Since this is about O-ring figures being back in general, who do you think we are getting? Hasbro probably has about a year planned, but outside of the SE/SS pack, we don't know how other figures will be offered. I don't want to go back to 2-packs being the only way to go.
From the Skystriker stretch goals, Ripcord and Scarlett are practically givens. The only other two I'd put money on are Cobra Commander and Duke. They could work as single or 2-pack. Airborne, maybe since it looks like his helmet on Lt. Ruthel. SE/SS packaging uses SE V2, so I'd be shocked if that wasn't in the works. If I were Hasbro, I would look at figures that didn't get rereleased 97-2005. Ripcord is a great start, as would Airborne. V1 Destro would be nice, or Major Bludd. The only two figures I'd be fine if they stayed away from are Firefly and Roadblock, but heck, it's been over 15 years...

I want a proper vintage Destro with neutral mask instead of all the attempts to make him look evil or whatever. Currently 45 complete on eBay.
