Night Attack 4-WD Stinger won decisively. Armadillo enters the poll.
The next poll in the search to determine the greatest G.I. Joe vehicles and playsets continues here and now! IMPORTANT NOTES: 1. Please post your NOMINATIONS for which vehicle gets in the next poll! You may nominate as many as you want, but everybody's first nomination is counted first, and each further nom is only counted if there is a tie for the nominee. Nominations are RESET TO ZERO in every poll. They do not add up. So the next poll choice is the one who gets the most noms IN THIS THREAD. 2. Only official U.S. or Canadian releases from Hasbro or the G.I. Joe Collector's Club for 3.75"-4"-scale figures are eligible. Any pack-in figures should NOT have any influence on your judgment of the item. 3. The poll is multiple choice but only ONE winner will be selected. Each choice you vote for gives that choice an equal boost at becoming the winner. Winners: 1. Aircraft Carrier U.S.S. Flagg (43.40% with 23 votes from 53 voters) 2. Hovercraft (Killer W.H.A.L.E.) (40.38% with 21 votes from 52 voters) 3. Terror Drome (38.30% with 18 votes from 47 voters) 4. Tomahawk (43.18% with 19 votes from 44 voters) 5. Hydrofoil (Moray) (38.10% with 16 votes from 42 voters) 6. Defiant: Space Vehicle Launch Complex (38.30% with 18 votes from 47 voters) 7. Rattler (Ground Attack Jet) (28.00% with 14 votes from 50 voters) 8. Mobile Command Center (28.00% with 14 votes from 50 voters) 9. Combat Jet Skystriker (XP-14F) (34.78% with 16 votes from 46 voters) 10. Night Raven S³P (34.78% with 16 votes from 46 voters) 11. Headquarters Command Center (37.84% with 14 votes from 37 voters) 12. A.W.E. Striker (41.38% with 12 votes from 29 voters) 13. H.I.S.S. High Speed Sentry (42.11% with 16 votes from 38 voters) 14. Multi-Purpose Attack Vehicle (VAMP) (48.28% with 14 votes from 29 voters) 15. Assault Copter Dragonfly (XH-1) (41.03% with 16 votes from 39 voters) 16. Mauler M.B.T. Tank (Manned Battle Tank) (36.67% with 11 votes from 30 voters) 17. F.A.N.G. (Fully Armed Negator Gyrocopter) (39.39% with 13 votes from 33 voters) 18. Snow Cat (40.54% with 15 votes from 37 voters) 19. Thunder Machine (42.86% with 12 votes from 28 voters) 20. Transportable Tactical Battle Platform (42.86% with 15 votes from 35 voters) 21. Rolling Thunder (41.38% with 12 votes from 29 voters) 22. H.A.V.O.C. (Heavy Articulated Vehicle Ordnance Carrier) (41.38% with 12 votes from 29 voters) 23. WOLF (Winter Operational Light Fighting Vehicle) (43.33% with 13 votes from 30 voters) 24. Conquest X-30 (48.28% with 14 votes from 29 voters) 25. Water Moccasin (43.75% with 14 votes from 32 voters) 26. Warthog A.I.F.V. (Amphibious Infantry Fighting Vehicle) (36.36% with 8 votes from 22 voters) 27. Sky Hawk One-Man V.T.O.L. (36.36% with 8 votes from 22 voters) 28. Flight Pod (Trubble Bubble) (36.67% with 11 votes from 30 voters) 29. Attack Vehicle (VAMP Mark II) (37.93% with 11 votes from 29 voters) 30. Ferret (37.93% with 11 votes from 29 voters) 31. Amphibious Personnel Carrier (APC) (44.00% with 11 votes from 25 voters) 32. Night Attack 4-WD Stinger (43.48% with 10 votes from 23 voters) Current poll choices: Devilfish Firebat H.I.S.S. II Armored Missile Vehicle Wolverine Skimobile Polar Battle Bear Rage (Urban Assault Vehicle) Bridge Layer (Toss 'N Cross) Night Ops Humvee Mean Dog Mini Tank Armadillo Rules: 1: ELIGIBILITY: For a vehicle or playset to be eligible, it must have been a Hasbro or G.I. Joe Collector's Club 3.75" to 4"-scale U.S. or Canadian release toy. Other foreign items, items released by other toy companies, and items released for other scales of figures are NOT eligible. If multiple vehicles were packaged together then each must be nominated separately, unless one was a much smaller accessory to the other. Vehicles that were released as accessories to a playset or figure ARE eligible to be nominated separately. Any pack-in figures should not have any influence on your judgment of the item. Every U.S. or Canadian release that appears in a distinct listing in YoJoe.com's vehicle section is eligible no matter how similar it was to another release. You should specify which release you are nominating by year or YoJoe.com version number. If you don't, I will simply make my own guess as to which one you mean. You can ask in the thread if you're not sure if a vehicle or playset is eligible and I will make the final determination. 2: NOMINATIONS: Nominations will be tallied in each poll thread to add a choice to the next poll. You can only nominate choices who are not already in the poll. Nomination counts will NOT carry over from one poll thread to the next. Every potential choice starts at 0 in each poll thread, so only the nominations within that thread will count towards selecting the next poll choice. You can nominate as many choices as you want in the thread, but pay attention to the order, because only your first nomination will count, UNLESS there is a tie in the nomination count. If there is a tie in the nomination count, I will then count people's 2nd nominations to break the tie, and 3rd and beyond if necessary. 3: VOTING: All polls will be run as multiple-choice polls. However, at least for the first 10 polls, only the top vote-getter will win. It's up to you whether you want to vote for only your top choice or for more than one. If there is more than one choice that you like equally, it would probably make sense to vote for all of them, to help any one of them beat out a choice that you don't like. But your voting strategy is up to you. The polls will run for 2 days each but may switch to 1-day polls eventually. 4: TIES: Any ties in the poll will be broken by a run-off WITHIN the thread of the next poll. In addition to posting your noms in that thread, you can post who you prefer to break the tie (or rank your choices in order of preference in the event of a 3-way or more tie). Any ties in the run-off or in nominations will be given to the choice which got to its total earliest. 5: DROPS: No drops will be done for now. If it becomes necessary later, then if a choice has not won after 10 polls and ends in the bottom 5 vote-getters in the last poll, then it will be dropped from the poll. It can then be nominated again to get back in the poll. YoJoe.com vehicle and playset listings for reference: http://www.yojoe.com/vehicles/ |

Add: Night Landing Maggot BUGG Thunderclap Persuader Watch Tower Bivouac I added the last two in part because of inspiration from JediJones adding them to the "Master List" (heh), but also because I found 75%-90% complete versions of them for about a dollar apiece at the Goodwill Clearance Center a few weeks back. The Watch Tower is missing the gun and spotlight, and the Bivouac is missing the canteen, machete, radio, and rocket (not the launcher, just the rocket). Did not have either of these as a kid but they are awesome little playsets!

I had them as a kid and definitely had fun with them. I'm not sure why it was fun tucking Recondo in to sleep in his cot, but it was.

The image which popped into my mind with the Bivouac was Pathfinder kicking his feet up on the cot, Cobras sneaking up on him... not realizing he has one of his Brownings at the ready, heh!

Man I miss all those small sets. About the price of two figures, not sure how that translates into today's money. To me that is the way to go. Armadillo, Ferret, SLAM, Watch Tower, Night-Landing, Sky-Hawk, Howitzer, Trouble Bubble and the ASP. We got a Skyhawk and a Night-Landing last year, nothing this year, and certainly nothing individually sold.
The ones with figures even better: Dictator, Evader, Despoiler, AGP pod. I missed all the Walmart sets which had figures a couple years back. Now they are all $50? The Ross Stuff was great too. Sandstorm w/RAM and the Range-Viper w/Whirlwind. I never saw them in the wild. Mine Diposal sort of sucked.
