Was thinking about Wolf Squad and decided to necro this bad boy rather than start a new thread. For those of you who've made WS part of your joeverse, how do you rationalize their purpose, and how does it differ from other subteams (Night Force, Tiger Force, Sky Patrol, etc.)?
I haven't fully figured this out for myself, and am currently leaning towards having Wolf Squad just be the new name for Night Force, partly because I like how they look with the old NF vehicles. Haven't thought much more about it than that. Because Shooter was included with the team when sold at retail, I drew inspiration from the 2006 G.I. Joe: Declassified three comic series, where she was used as a Joe sent on a mission to help ensure that the other G.I. Joe team members were successful. In a similar fashion, a small team of Joes could be sent out on a mission as a Wolf Squad to ensure that the primary G.I. Joe force is successful with their mission, but without that force even knowing that this discreet Wolf Squad was sent out there, unseen and unheard. They could be used to tie up any loose ends if everything does not go as planned.

Don?t hold your breath. They changed up classified mid release to cater to what we always known.
Only people expanding Joe universes are customizers and their imagination. On topic here is a Wolf Firefly I did a few months back: Untitled by Slice's Customs, on Flickr Untitled by Slice's Customs, on Flickr Untitled by Slice's Customs, on Flickr

And not just because Flint is busy playing computer games again. She looks great in this color scheme too.
Agreed! They need to fall in love with their own products. Make them truly inspired again. I'm sure you've answered this. What's the significance of his kneepads? I've not noticed it on other figures. And, what surprises have you got in store for your Slice's Customs '22 signature pic? |

Also, you can't be Wolf Squad if you don't know you're Wolf Squad.

Wolf squad sounds kinda corny to me, and my version was a group of Mercs. I started with Firefly as he is my favorite. So it?d be Mercenary Wolf Firefly, Mercenary Wolf Scrap Iron, Mercenary Wolf Major Bludd etc etc Preciate you man!

You could consider the name and squad emblem. Before hunting, wolves will scout out their prey. Once they are close enough, the wolf pack separates out and surrounds its prey. Similar ideas might be used in a G.I. Joe themed story or adventure when using the Wolf Squad.
I've never much liked the idea of Joe special teams being for environments or conditions (jungles / deserts / night ops...) so something like this makes so much more sense to me. I may still combine WS/NF but use this as the reason for the team. I just don't think the Joes need a special detail for night missions anyway. Now to find something equally as perfect for Tiger Force...
