I was looking at photos, of some of the new products shown at Toy Fair. Mainly the Toma/Eaglehawk. I noticed the figure comes with two headsets and that is a neat accessory. I then started thinking of how cool it would be to get modern era accessory packs with extra headsets, weapons, etc. I think to help sell the packs, a couple of exclusive accessories or weapons should be include. Accessories that would stand out and be worth having, but wouldn't necessarily be figure related or slightly larger ones that wouldn't make sense to have with a figure. I am sure we would all like extra briefcases of money, laptops, headsets, phones and other things. I know I would. Even small furniture like folding chairs would be interesting to me. I am sure there have been other threads on this subject, but I have been away for a while and I just wanted to know what you guys think?

As a collector, there have been all kinds of gear Hasbro made I'd love to get more of.
From the retail standpoint...accessory packs are a dead concept, and have been for over a decade. The current ideology is that parents (and kids) want a "complete package" when they buy a toy, so they don't want a vehicle that doesn't have a driver, they don't want to buy "parts" of another figure, etc. The accessory pack doesn't fit that, and the last time Hasbro tried selling them (during a Star Wars movie year no less), they flopped. If something like this ever happened, it would HAVE to be an initiative from the Club.

That is unfortunate... Because we all know that we would buy it. Some of my favorite Joe accessories were the Bivouac and the Watch Tower, and I also really enjoyed the weapons packs... It gave kids the chance to get back a piece that was lost easily.
It was also cool to have extras, and the ones offered were differently colored than the standard black weapons. It would be cool to have packs with extra assault vests, helmets and backpacks, as well as weapons. I would buy a set right now that had 4-6 Mouse WaveRider Helmets/assault vests... I could think of a bunch more.... Whether it would work at retail or not, I know I would buy them, and I can imagine a lot of collectors would like them as well...

Accessory packs are a great idea, especially since Hasbro has really stepped things up with accessories in the modern era. Just mold them in proper colors, please.

I would love Hasbro to do this as well, but i also dont think they will, unfortunatelly for us. There are however, after market companys, like marauders and others who sell tons of accesories and weapons. It may not be from Hasbro, but thru these companys you can get briefcases full of money, explosives, grenades, cellphones, laptops, and tons of other cool stuff.
But dont get me wrong, having a table full of money bag Destros euro and 100 dollar bill stacks and a few hundred Lowlight bullets would be insanelly awesome. |

I would totally buy a pen accessory pack. I'm just glad we have places like Marauders, broken arrow and raginspoon. They help make good figures great.

which has always been strange to me, as they don't go the extra mile to paint or at least wash gear for $20+ dollar figures.
