I had a thought the other day. With Star Wars, Hasbro has a tendency to re-release older figures from various years in new packaging under a "saga legends/best-of" grouping to sell alongside the completely new figures.
With the distribution and retail support of G.I.Joe being a bit iffy these past few years, would you want Hasbro to re-release older HTF figures from 25th-now on a new packaging card that labels them under a "classics/legends" banner? The line could be sold alongside the current G.I.Joe line so that if folks don't like the current offerings, they can grab what they missed from years prior with this line. This way, we could get reissues of figures many people here are still without and don't plan on owning anytime soon due to their high aftermarket prices or scarcity. Such a line could also allow the inclusion of former vehicle drivers that can double as troop builders (crimson horseman, steel brigade delta), unreleased Vault figures like the troop builders (heat viper, laser viper) and oddball Vault characters (zombies! ghost ninjas!) that may seem unfit for the current main line (Retaliation or whatever comes after). Heck, they could even sneak in some figures that were previously only found in multi-packs (25th alpine, Quick kick, chrome faced Cobra Commander, defense of cobra island alley viper). How do you feel about such an idea? The ^above poll^ is multiple choice. I personally don't care what they do. In my area, I had a bit of a difficult time finding all the figures I wanted, but there were actually there and I found them or fellow collectors found them and picked them up for me. I was able to get the entire single-carded POC run, I saw pretty much all the 25th, saw all of ROC except for Kamakura, and found every 30th except for that darn Storm Shadow. If anything, the one aspect of the 25th-now G.I.Joe line that had been very poorly supported and stocked by retailers here in RI and Mass was the vehicles. Some 25th, and the larger POC vehicles were nowhere to be found, and we never did see any Hiss scouts or Ashiko cycles up this way. But overall, my area has had pretty good distribution compared to some other folks areas where the line was not stocked at all, sometimes for years.

yeah , it would be nice to get the Storm shadow, or the Low-lights that either never circulated or were snatched up in bulk by scalpers.

I wouldnt mind a chance to get an Alpine.
Not the Vehicles drivers though...too many people bought multiples of vehicles specifically to get those driver figures. To just release them carded now would be an insult to everyone who shelled out the cash earlier.

Would be cool. I single carded Cobra Crimson Horsemen would be very cool.

I'm fine with it. As long there is a little difference from the original. Hasbro would make a killing, because collectors like us would want to get all of the re releases as it would be thought of as a variant figure. How many people got the HOH CG, even though they had multiples of the original carded figure?

It would be good to have a "best of" set that consisted of hard to find figures. It would provide an opportunity for fans to get figures they otherwise might not get inexpensively. Also, if they were part of a special set, presumably they would be on new cards anyway, so the argument of them devaluing the older figures is moot. As long as its Hasbro we are giving our money to, its better for the line. I don't really like paying someone on ebay when i could be paying the makers.

I think this is a great idea, I for one am missing a few POC figures that were harder to find. and some army builders that were only released in the island packs!

I don't think there are enough HTF figs to sustain a line. Maybe they can be sprinkled into whatever the current line is, but they don't need their own line.

So which versions of Duke, Snake Eyes, Cobra Commander, and Storm Shadow do you want? Because that's all that Hasbro will put out, and don't get your hopes up for a POC SE and Ren SS, either, because it looks like everything from Hasbro in the near future is going to be reduced cost/quality with standard soft plastic/reduced articulation Retaliation single-carded figures being the best quality offerings under the Joe banner.
