Sci-Fi makes a great heavy armored green shirt. And look at the sculpting on the closed helmet. It looks almost exactly like Master Chief from Halo.
Just thought I'd throw it out there for anybody that doesn't think he's a troop builder. |

Like I said in the thread where someone put Sci-Fi on a Halo Mongoose..
Take Sci-Fi and Helix and you have a great start to a science fiction line of action figures.

Sci-fi is indeed a great looking figure. Not sure which helmet I prefer, but as of now he is in full faceplate mode.

Exactly. Unless you want to the piss to be gouged out of you on Ebay. Which I am an unfortunate victim of by the way. Walmart is under no obligation to carry Joe. Unlike Star Wars. I think Walmart has a contract which obligates them to carry SW. No matter how stupid and retarded the Princess Leia figures look. I call it a guaranteed paycheck. Star Wars figures recently have been in decline yet Joe is doing everything they can to prove themselves. Since these design guys are under less pressure and can pump out whatever piece of fecal matter they want and Walmart has to shelve it under contract, those in the SW dept at Hasbro have it made. I see this as the reason they 30th guys in the back workshop/studio busting their ass with PoC and 30th. The design/build quality is the best Joe has ever been! These guys want their jobs and are doing everything they can to make sure the figures are award quality. Yet, despite the awesome effort of those designing these 30th figures, the 30th line is no where to be found in many areas including my destitute part of the world. Hasbro's marketing department is dropping the ball. It is X-Mas and 30th is not on the shelves! Again lets also not forget, as the sage says, "Walmart Sucks."

But this thread isn't about distribution & stocking. It's about different uses for Sci-Fi. Some people see him as a single character. But I think that's a big mistake. The GI Joe team is full of single characters & Steel Brigade is the only real infantry army builder since Hasbro hardly ever makes green shirts. Sci-Fi is a great opportunity for the Joe team to have an army to beat the shit out of the Vipers or B.A.T.s. Airtight can also make a great troop builder. Pretty much any guy with a cool outfit & a helmet can make a good troop builder. ROC Flash & Charbroil also rock! |
