I was talking to a friend about this the other day. We all know the 80's had the coolest action figures and great commercials. But seriously why doesn't Hasbro make toy commercials for G.I. Joe?
This makes no sense. After working in retail for close to 10 years YOU HAVE TO ADVERTISE. If Krogers, Meijer etc never put out a Sunday ad, if Kroger Never aired commercials for their weekly grocery sales, does anyone honestly think these stores would do that well? You HAVE to Advertise to entice people to come to Your store and not the other guy's store. Why did toy companies throw this simple and important tool out the window? |

I was looking through some old G.I. Joe Marvel comics and the inside cover had a Huge picture of Bazooka, Major Bludd, William Perry, Hiss Tank and another vehicle. Hmmmmm say it with me Hasbro ADVERTISMENT. Kid buys G.I. Joe comic book, kid opens first page of comic book and sees a picture of G.I. Joe figures he can buy. Kid asks Mom and Dad to buy him the cool action figures in the comic book. Hmmmmm this = PROFIT.
That is the end of class today. |

If Hasbro created and aired G.I. Joe figure commercials, and kept a G.I. Joe cartoon on the air, to quote the Good Ol JR (Jim Ross), "Business is about to pick up!"
I talked to the Wal-mart Toy Department mgr and he said the new Lego Ninja figures are Flying off the shelfs. I asked why is that. He said they have a cartoon on Cartoon Network (hmmm, G.I. Joe might be better on CN then The Hub), Lego shows toy commercials for the new Ninja figures. Wow, cartoon + toy commercials = toys Flying off the shelves. Wow, Hasbro call up Lego and get some advice from them. |

You don't have to sell Joes. Joes sell themselves. Oh, wait. Actually, they don't. :(

After that i was curious because i wasn't sure what was that, and i saw a another advertisement of CC riding a Hisstank. Then i saw somewhere in the net that double image with the Joes against cobra (the one with the Mass Device). Then another site had an add (one of those pesky, blinking ads) about the new 25th line. And i'm in Argentina. (I finally end up here on the Tank btw) There might be no TV add because i suppose it's way more expensive (than they planned for a limited homage run of Joes.), and internet it's better to spread the word without having to spend too much.

"Why aren't there any GI Joe commercials?" would be a better question, grammatically speaking.
Just being a dick.

But I also had toy stores that carried the figures and vehicles I wanted for two years on the shelves. Now I have to find the three pegs by looking for a superior military product that has triple the space. Then on top of that, Hasbro will tell us that Tanks are too expensive, yet bravo team will have like 4 different ones? |
