Someone posted a pic of the single figure case and it says right on it "do not sell before May 28th 2012."

Don't listen to them, the whole "we can't sell them to you" is all a bunch of bullshit- There's a difference between a "street date" and a "release date", many toys have release dates which are approximate estimations of when those cases of figures will arrive and will be put out on shelves, this can vary depending on the store. A hard release date will have the "do not open/sell until..."
I guess what ticks me off here, is that Target and other places need to get off their asses and properly train their employees and make sure they all receive the same information. As well as train them to give 2 shits about the people who are willing to part with their hard-earned money and contribute to their paychecks so they can be texting in the back and not at one of the 30 empty checkouts while many customers doze off while standing up awaiting to part with said money.(/rant section) By the way, I must note that, intelligence aside, I have generally found the staff at Target to be much nicer than Walmart. And with how many of those places I hit each month, I'm confident I'm not the only one with that opinion. Edit: wouldn't let me delete. Guess I got caught up in the moment of the rant and took too long, then saw Fast Draw's post. Well, guess it's like I said to the guy in Worcester, sounds like a whole mess of Target employees are in deep shit. FastDraw: where was this pic posted? I'm just curious what it looks like.

However, something still isn't right here. The cases may SAY that date on them, but how strictly is it enforced...? Like I said before: in the past, some stores would not even allow the transaction of some transformers movie toys to register until the activation/release date that is printed on their case, but yet I was able to legally and officially buy the retaliation single-carded figures today without incident, 12 days before their printed release date. This must mean (at Target at least) that it's a printed date warning rather than a computerized activation. The fact that I checked Target's inventory status online (which said 'available'... But this is also irrelevant because 3 other targets I called told me they couldn't pull them), then went to Target myself and had 3 employees cooperate to pull the figures for me from the stockroom apparently must mean that I just got lucky.

Really? Interesting. Fair enough, I stand corrected then.

It does appear to be only a printed warning on the case itself. That's why when I called and even when the guy at electronics pulled up the DCPI in the handheld it was listed as available. I'm also wondering how much this is enforced. When the deluxe TF Prime figs first came out, they had a 'street date'. A couple Targets said they couldn't pull them before then, yet, I was able to get them 2 weeks 'early',no questions asked at one or two. I mean, shouldn't they just be happy they're selling stuff even before hitting the shelves rather than risking them just sitting there for weeks or months on end?

Airtight, where can I find photos of a split apart torso and pelvis?
What would one use to fuse the separate parts together? My plan is to slice the lower torso section in half at the waist line and fuse the lower gut torso with the upper pectoral torso section. Kinda like the build of figures with waist articulation but no mid-torso articulation.

Here's an update with some pics of my recent findings, including receipts with UPC numbers, for those who may need them:
And yes, I also bought stir-fry sauce at Target.

So I got some clarification on this whole 'street date' thing at Target. Apparently the sticker on the case is from Target and NOT Hasbro, which is why some people have been able to buy them. If it was due to Hasbro, their computer system wouldn't allow them to ring it up.
The explanation I received for the date was so that they can setup an Endcap and don't want to run out before that particular reset. Ended up grabbing Red Ninja, Cobra Trooper, Cobra Commander and Joe Trooper, was told there was no Zartan in that case(I thought he was) at the Nashua NH, guy felt bad that I came all the way from Worcester MA. Didn't have the heart to tell him I came from 20 minutes down the road in Acton. Also, Dollar General in Nashua does not have any Joes. The lady asked if I was the guy from Maine who has been calling once or twice a week looking for them.
