a.k.a. It's All Gyre's Fault
Got these the other day, haven't had a chance to take some pics until now. First off, very solid figures. Good detailing on the accessories. I love that SE has the same Mac-10 that the canceled Jungle Storm Shadow has and that it clips onto either the right side or left side of his jacket. I don't think it's supposed to come off, but the prototype's visor easily detachs on one side but the other didn't seem to want to come without being forced, so I'm assuming it's not meant to come off. Yes, Timber's head does move. Can see in the pictures, it's not much, but it does move a little bit from looking down to looking up. It's tail activated. Move the tail, the head moves. SE comes with his sword, the Mac-10, a machine gun and the ice pick kind of thing. Desert Storm Shadow has a TON of accessories that can be put together in various ways, as shown. The katanas, all four, fit into the backpack. There are holes in the bottom of the mace like weapons, so could presumably fit into the pegs on his clothing. The same with the holes in the throwing stars, my prototype came with two. I tried to fit them. They didn't want to fit. Those throwing stars, I see those (along with Low-Lights bullet) becoming the PoC version of the Sneak Peek & Heavy Metal microphones. A complete Desert Storm Shadow is going to be hard to find I think, there are alot of swords and knives. Obviously he can't use/carry all of them at once, but it's pretty cool that you can mix and match and outfit him however you personally want to. If you want to see more, I can take more pictures. Just let me know. All in all, I'm looking forward to these figures. Timber's head moving really puts the Arctic Snake-Eyes into the buy pile. I was already going to buy the Desert Storm Shadow. Feel the bond between a man and his wolf (yes, it came this way):

I Think Snake Eye's looks like someone on a Mountain Night mission say in Afghanistan or such... and thus the dark clothing rather than the true snow deco look of white.
I think it could easily be done for a cold high altitude or nort American mountain situation in thos colors as much as making the same toy white would work for Canada, Alaska, Polar, Norway etc... What's the final colors on that Snake Eyes ? and will wolfy be Painted ? P.s. Isn't Timber Dead and he's actually on Timber's Grandson or Great Grandson by now ? |
