I gotta admit I audibly chuckled when they revealed that Duke. It was all, *drumroll* BAM! Screamo Duke! and I giggled like a weirdo. Not just at the absurdity, but also because I knew it would piss off the fans. Anything that pisses toy fans off is A-O-fuckin-K in my book.

Thanks to Hasbro incompetence I’m spending my Sunday working on another custom Duke.
Total and complete lack of understanding of what your fans want.

Plenty of time to start working on a Hasbro 40th Anniversary apology set, but they’ll need budget—so keep making those Retro preorders!

I'm starting to get uncomforable with the original SE webgear... |

The fact that your Duke parts are 100% available to them shows just how pathetic their selection is!
Then again, we are morons if we expected otherwise. These same people put a visor SE head on a figure that comes in Commando visor card art packaging. That’s about as lazy as it gets.

The current design obviously and unfortunately do not have a history with the previous line. I have to believe they thought the 50th 3pack repack was up to date tooling and sculpting, since it was released in the later 50th line, without understanding that it was a repack of an early set with outdated sculpts for its time of release. I believe Mark Weber's thought during 50th was that the original DVD pack got limited release in the wild, and fit their limited production budget. But I think he would admit it wasn't the best idea for that 50th run, and would absolutely not let it happen again for the current Retro line.
I think "lazy" might not be the best way to describe this (though Bobby Vala does end conceding to using the term)--but the word ends up being...the most polite, oddly |

I can't remember who for the life of me, but someone made a custom a while back using those Gung Ho legs, and it looked great. I believe he still came up a little shorter than Gung Ho and Roadblock, due to the Flint upper body. As a fan of Duke, the slight increase in height was awesome to me. Does anybody else remember this custom, and who.made it?
