Retro Baroness figure does not have the same level of articulation as the Retro SE in my opinion. I am no expert and majority of my experience with small figures has been with a lot of the vintage stuff and not much for any of the modern era stuff. So I cannot compare to 25th, PoC, RoC, 50th, etc. Don't even know if these are valid comparisons I just see lots of talk from the seasoned vets of the forum.
Edit/Added : I do really like the Baroness grappling hook w/ line accessory or whatever the proper term is. it has foot pegs and you can sort of have figures hold onto it with 1 arm as well. Not easy to get great figure grip on it but just a fun item as I was always rigging up zip lines or hanging figures from helicopters when I played with Joes as a kid. You can add IL to the list as well just found these at lunch.
First impression: Card stock is very thin. These will be tough to get a mint carded figure. These somehow feel cheaper than the prior releases. Not sure if it is the plastic, paint apps or what. Everyone is already aware but it hits hard when you get them in hand. The file cards with multiple languages basically eliminates all the information that made the file cards cool and personalized the characters. The head used for snake eyes and storm shadow is obviously to connect with the movie and not the card art. Sad as they made the pint they went for the original interpretations. Baroness head doesn’t look any better with the print technology. Storm shadow does not either. If you want the definitive versions of these get the ones that came out before. Here is hoping the next wave gives us the versions of roadblock and scarlet we all want. If this first wave is any indication don’t get your hopes up. |

I found 'em. They're cooler than fuck, and I don't care what anyone says. They look amazing!
I was in the automotive section looking for Seafoam, walked to the back aisle, glanced down towards sporting goods and spotted them from like ten or twelve aisles away! And what I noticed first were the carded figures themselves and not the cardboard side-cap thingy. That package design/cardart/logo still catches the eye like a goddamn nerd beacon, man! Anyway, they had just put them out (the toy guy said "about 5 minutes ago), so I had them case fresh and all to myself for a bit. Looks like Baroness is only 3 to a shipper. That is, if this one was any indication, and someone else didn't buy some before me. It seemed full up though. It was really terrific to see GI Joe dangling from pegs in a store again. So good, in fact, that it actually seemed a shame to buy them and kick-off their inevitable absence from toy aisles again. I couldn't help myself though.

So does anyone know when wave 2 is suppose to hit walmart in the stores??? That will be the make or brake moment of this line- seeing how they do roadblock and Scarlett.
Also when is wave 1 vehicles suppose to hit the stores?

I'm assuming the vehicles will hit in September/October, if they're in stores at all. There isn't a planogrammed spot for the current wave of figures in the action figure aisle itself, only that side-cap--at least not in the stores in my area--so that may be an indication the other stuff isn't showing up until the next reset...probably for the holidays.
