The remarks that I think are being referred to were made by Bobby in response to backlash concerning his use of Steel Brigade. I think he coupled his expectations of Hasbro’s intent (which were reasonable) with a little self preservation instinct and presented it as industry fact.

G.I. Joe Classified = G.I. Joe Evergreen
It's not limited to a 6 inch line and not all products for the Classified/Evergreen will be Hasbro made, as far as I can tell. |

My heart's a little sad by this, as it does make me worry that 1/18 scale will be left in the dust.
The more logical part of me sees some potential upsides though. Any attempt to revitalize interest in GI Joe, in any scale, is a good thing. And honestly, if Hasbro doesn't put any effort into 1/18, I'm sure other companies, such as Marauders, will take care of us. I'm pretty confident their Vietnam line will take care of a lot of my Joe needs in ways Hasbro probably wouldn't even if they had plans for a 4" line. Still... it'll be a bummer if we don't get 4" Joes from Hasbro. |

... Six inch is great for those who want it, but... Unless this-.. I dunno. If there is no 4 inch line, I want nothing to do with this. The movie is not GI Joe, to me, it is a horrible interpretation of one of my all time favorite characters, I do not collect 6 inch, and the comics have been HORRIBLE.
Not 'death of the line,' but unless there is a 4 inch series coming... death of the line for me, I guess. |

I am very excited for a 6" Joe line. Been collecting the Star Wars Black series 6" since the beginning and it will be awesome to add Joes to the mix. Hasbro is more than likely going to have a San Diego Comic Con exclusive now as well to go with this line.

GI Joe is always 1:18 simply because of army-building and vehicles. Six-inch is not conducive to vehicles and playsets (look at what Di$ney Star Wars went through in Black Series) I am glad you 6" guys are getting something but I get the feeling it will be at the expense of a 1:18 line.

I've said this before.
If you like a 6" Series...that's great. But for me...I've been buying a 3.75 / 4" scale for 38 years. Occasionally grabbing a cheap find from Extreme or Sgt. Savage just because it was cheap and someone wanted to get rid of it. But for 38 years I've been buying Joe in that scale. Its great to display. Its great for vehicles. Its great for playsets. Its 99% of my collection. I'm not starting a collection over in a new scale much less one that can't sustain a vehicle line. But go on you enjoy it. Quote:

A nice "little" collection of Joes on the shelf is how it all starts...again and before you know you it you are out of room.
Can't wait to see the reveals and hope the sculpts and designs live up to the hype. The Joe brand needs to grow and maybe the 6" route is the way.

If we do get a wave 2, I’d like to see Cobra Commander, Baroness, Storm Shadow, Hawk (Duke should never be released before Hawk), and Stalker. I know that won’t happen, though. |
