I'm excited to see G.I. Joe in 6 inch scale. I've been collecting the SW Black Series from day 1 and I can't wait to see what Hasbro does with their own IP. Also, I don't think we've seen the last of the 3 3/4 inch line.

It doesn't look good for the 1/18th line when there are rumors of a 6 inch line and no news for the 1/18 line.
I hate auto correct

1. For a year, Bobby has been saying Hasbro cares nothing for Joe, won’t be making any Joes whatsoever.
2. Your podcast, Bobby is saying yes to 6” and 4” (or so I’ve been told—I still need to listen to it). How could he have been so wrong (yet confidently so)?

I'm going to assume because Bobby, like many of us in the industry have friends who still work at Hasbro and regularly discuss what we are working on if NDA aren't in place- and sometimes even if they are. Some people just have looser lips than others. People should be thanking Bobby as far as I'm concerned as it showed some solid sales proof that there is money in the 1/12th scale format and military action figures in general with Action Force.
I guess what I'm saying is, for now I'll stop short of thanking him. Beyond that...I dunno, his KS failed to fund on the first try, right? And it only went about $30k beyond the MUCH LOWER base funding level on the second try. And that's after goosing the kitty for at least $10k and cheating his high-tier backers out of an exclusive to pimp it out to low-level backers in order to get it to even reach its basic funding. It doesn't seem like it should have been inspirational to Hasbro. I'll leave the judgement up to insiders like yourself, I suppose, but to me that seems like a weird connection to make.

Here's the thing: What he said may have been accurate AT THE TIME. Anything can change depending on who is there and who changes in what positions in management. Adam Pawlus (an Entertainment Earth stooge who runs a weekly Q&A at GalacticHunter) has remarked in the past that there was a particular brand team member that was preventing a new Cloud Car to be made in Star Wars. Once he left the product team....fans suddenly got a new Cloud Car. Things always seem to be in flux in the toy industry. And when Vala made those remarks...there was NO indication that Paramount was doing anything with GI Joe movie plans. Earlier this year? Snake Eyes is on track, filming is part way done, and Snake Eyes looks to make its late October release date. Things can always change, and don't always assume something said a couple years ago applies to today.

The remarks that I think are being referred to were made by Bobby in response to backlash concerning his use of Steel Brigade. I think he coupled his expectations of Hasbro’s intent (which were reasonable) with a little self preservation instinct and presented it as industry fact.

I also fear that the 1/18th line will be left in the dust

Again, I’m not knocking him—just trying to figure out how he knew...and how he now knows.
