The parent buying toys for children, which is the majority of toy consumers, don’t actively seek out toy departments at department stores they don’t shop at; they simply check the toy departments where they already shop. Unless those parents already shop at Sears, which they likely don’t considering Sears sales, parents aren’t going to say “hey, let’s make a special trip to Sears to see what toys they have” when they will simply go to the toy departments at Target or Walmart when they are there.

Here in Upstate SC, TRU is at 20% for action figures. Almost pulled the trigger on the mid-sized True Heroes assault boat to go with the Skull Island stuff I picked up a few months back.

Wow, that was quick.
I also received an e-mail from TRU saying they are limited to stock on hand, which I take to mean no more trucks. Up until last week/week before, they were still getting shipments. Looks like it won't be long now....

I know it will never happen.
But I had an idea that I think would work. Toys R Us is dead. The attempts to purchase it have failed. Hasbro posted major losses this quarter. We wonder how smaller toy companies would survive without store space and target and Walmart seem content with there toy departments. SEARS! I know they are on life support but something like this could save them. SEARS used to have huge toy sections when I was a kid. Now that TRU is gone the competition is much weaker. Toy departments can get people back in SEARs again and what a convenience for mom and dad. The SEARs brand is not the same as Walmart or Target. SEARS won't have to reinvent the wheel just dust off some old manuals and catalogs. I know this would work if done right. Domino effect for the malls if these huge anchor stores stay alive. But, in the end I am just a guy on the Tank with an idea! Quote:
