People keep bringing this up without paying any attention to how Hasbro's done business for the last 20 years or so. If this maxim were true, then Star Wars would still have 6 POAs per figure and the robot modes of transformers would be little more than statues.
Instead, Hasbro has steadily improved articulation, detail, and accessories on the Star Wars and Transformers line as they've grown in success. In fact, when we've seen articulation cuts, it's usually after the brand or particular line has had DIFFICULTY in selling (G.I. Joe for the last several years, Clone Wars after the last couple years). |

Those sales on Batman figures just proves that he's one of those characters that is so damn popular, people will buy anything with his name/identity on it. The product is terrible, yet still it sells. It's almost mind-boggling that Batman's popularity is still that strong.

We'll see if the Joe sales continue. Then again, if stores aren't getting more product, they won't continue for very long. I really hope more wave 1 and 2 hit stores. This whole idea that stores should ship back Retaliation product is silly. If it sells, let it sell. They can always ship more product next year.

I do have to wonder how much speculation is influencing buying. Are people picking these up thinking they're going to be limited released and not return in March?
And it can be a bad thing as it shows that the limited articulation, no filecards, big accessories actually sells. |

I don't think the variants or more popular figure will be available in great supply. If the wave 2 cases move then it seems more likely that we'd see a revision or two. Otherwise I don't see that blue CC, red ninja or any variants will be around.

Saying that "variants" won't be around isn't the same as "wave 1 not being around." I agree that there's a good chance there won't be any blue CCs or Blue-gear Joe troopers come February/March, but everything else in wave 1 (Zartan, Duke, Roadblock, Cobra Trooper, Red Ninja, Storm Shadow, Snake-Eyes, Black Cobra Commander and (Tan gear) G.I. Joe Trooper? We'll be seeing all those again. |

We'll be seeing Cobra Commander, Duke and maybe Roadblock again definately.
If they make Wave 2 into March Wave 1, they won't have any Duke or CC figures but will have an SE and Roadblock. They'll want Duke (especially if Tatum gets more scenes) and CC to be on the shelves then.
