I do have to wonder how much speculation is influencing buying. Are people picking these up thinking they're going to be limited released and not return in March?
And it can be a bad thing as it shows that the limited articulation, no filecards, big accessories actually sells.

All it's gonna show Hasbro is that they can charge any price they want & there will always be suckers & idiots willing to pay it. Next year $12.99. The next $14.99. The wages will stay the same, grocery & gas prices will stay the same but action figures will just keep going up because they know the collectors will pay no matter what. |

I think people following that kind of common sense thinking are buying what they want now because once it's gone it's gone. and yes I think the early variants (Blue CC, Blue Trooper, Red Ninja) will prove to be worth more than retail in the short term (1-3 years) |

Instead, Hasbro has steadily improved articulation, detail, and accessories on the Star Wars and Transformers line as they've grown in success. In fact, when we've seen articulation cuts, it's usually after the brand or particular line has had DIFFICULTY in selling (G.I. Joe for the last several years, Clone Wars after the last couple years). Quote:
I wouldn't expect any of "Wave 1" to be available next spring when the movie comes out... If Hasbro shipped out most of it to prep for the previous movie launch, I doubt they kept much if any in reserve, and It would make no sense for them to go back and make more.
