Again still good info that I am hearing. They are next to real SEALS, this means authentic Joe... I really think this is going to be good... Think about it.. The director tweets sound like something a Fan who is Directing would say, this can only be good news guys.... This is what we asked for, someone who knows our Joe and will make a Bad Ass movie out of it... We get Flint, Lady J, RB, FF, SE, SS, Colt and who knows what easter eggs lay in store for us. Cant Wait.. I have nothing for Love and SUPPORT for anything Joe.

Parkour is for training. Actors are not athletes, and guess what: they need real training to get in shape.
Shocking news: they're actors, not comic/cartoon characters. Training with parkour gets them in shape and lets coreographers have ideas for combat. I'd rather have SE and SS having a ninja fight jumping all over the place, than the SW EpIV fight between old Ben and old Darth Vader which looked like two old guys fighthing with canes. Quote:
Incredible. This is the same exact BS you say about every single thing. :P

So, you're actually complaining about the movie having action? Incredible. This is the same exact BS you say about every single thing. :P and that fight with old ben and old darth had way more emotion than that over the top BS in episode 1's fight or even episode 2's nightmare of a saber fight. yeah, have them hoping around huh? how did that work out in the fight in episode 2 when yoda hoped all over? no, you just need to decipher what i said a bit better. im upset with the type of action it will have. its gonna be cheesy bullshit. as corny as fast and furious. i mean, parkour for christ's sake????? you can stick up for it how you want but thats just your fanboyism talking.

Now...as far as parkour...remember the opening scene to 007 Casino Royal? The parkour in that scene..made the scene. To compare a modern movie like Gi Joe 2 to a masterpiece like Star Wars is a travesty. It's like comparing a 2012 Mustang to a 67 Fastback. They both have their ups and downs, but everyone loves a classic!. I am sure that the new movie will have it's cheesy parts, but the fact that it will introduce some of the classic characters to a new generation of Joe fans is what it's all about. Let's face it: the Joe films will never win Academy awards. They are intended to revive the Joes for a new generation and let us old schoolers get our fix. You are taking this stuff way too personally. |

Gotta love how some people on this thread have already apparently seen GI Joe 2 and can critique it. You think they'd use their ability to peer into the future accurately to obtain winning lottery ticket numbers instead of watching movies from the future.
Parkour? I see nothing wrong with it being used in GI Joe, especially with ninja action. Ninjas fighting in an urban environment? Yeah, I'd imagine they'd utilize the urban environment to their advantage. Parkour will help the actors and fight choreographer prepare a realistic fight that makes sense in the environment the characters are in. How is this cheesy? Good lord, try a little harder to find something to hate. And since Star Wars was cited as a "masterpiece"...what exactly in George Lucas' filmography, pre-Star Wars, would have indicated that he could direct an epic, sci-fi/fantasy film with spaceship and sword battles? Uh...nothing. Neither THX-1138 or American Graffiti featured those elements (other than THX being a sci-fi film). Peter Jackson being able to tackle a monumental task like the Lord of Ring trilogy? His previous experience was largely low-budget horror films. So give Chu a chance. He hasn't had the opportunity to do an action film yet. He's passionate about the project and trying to keep fans involved as best he can. |
