Huh, still felt Doom was worlds better than RoC. So I'd be happy with that kind of an improvement.

LoL you're right :P Quote:
Doom is totally overrated but...just take it as an example: for those who are not fans, it's an okay movie. Standard action-flic acting, good action. It attracts theinterest of those not knowing much of it. RoC is basically a similar product: aimed at new public. A friend that didn't even had Joes at kid said it was ok. My mom watched it the other day, and thought it was entertaining lol

I agree on that one.

My wife thought it was interesting...her friends kids watched it and thought it was cool (they didn't even know what gijoe was!) |

I don't really agree with that. Three of the previous four Fast and Furious movies were pretty good successes, at least in the US. I would maybe agree that the Rock took the franchise from being really profitable to blockbuster status, but even then, I think the first F&F movie sold more tickets in the US then the new one did.
I think having the Rock is nothing but good news for GI Joe, but I also don't think it guarantees box office dominance.

Reading all the comments, it is funny that you can pick out the ones that dont read everything and just put a comment in there.

Can we stop with the "RoadbROCK"? That's so... I can't think of a word that won't get me in trouble..
But it's bad.. Here's my question though.. The script has been worked on for awhile right? Then the Rock gets cast as Roadblock and all of a sudden Roadblock is the featured character. So does that mean that the script is getting rewritten due to the casting? Was Roadblock always a featured character in the new script prior to the casting? I don't think it's a major deal either way. Just interesting... I think the Rock will be good for the franchise and help bring in more viewers to the second movie. And besides, we all know we're dying to get a Joe-scale/Joe-compatible Rock figure.

I'm so glad that we're getting "The Rock" in movies here lately instead of Dwayne Johnson. "The Rock" makes stuff like "The Rundown", "Walking Tall" and "Fast Five". Dwayne Johnson makes stuff like "The Tooth Fairy" and "Race to Witch Mountain".
Also, he HAS to film a PSA that they can show five minutes into the credits. |
