Many parents, not just ones i know but random people i have met, have said they don't want their kids involved with "war" toys and "war related" franchises. So despite our "small percentage" many of us have given hasbro much of their money with allt he army builders and orders and such. And since many of us aren't feeling the movie i think that toy line wise it will not do as well as hoped by hasbro execs as many "kids" these days just dont feel the joe line the way we did and do.

Tired of the haters? Yes.
Tired of the lovers? Yes. Tired of waiting on the movie? Yes. I'm anxious to see the movie personally. Not because I think it's going to kick ass, but just to finally see the finished product. I'd love to see a live-action GI Joe: A Real American Hero movie. Unfortunately, that's not what I'm getting though. I loved Transformers and even the Fantastic Four movies, so I highly doubt that I'll walk out of GIJ:ROC terribly disappointed! Look at it this way- if the movie flops as bad as the haters say it will/should, maybe we'll get ARAH reboot! |

But what about the movie's spirit? Should fans expect to see a live-action version of the cartoon, an update on the Marvel comics, or something else entirely? According to Goldner, Sommers and crew want to take filmgoers back a couple of decades: "Steve Sommers is very different. But he's perfect, because if you think about his movies like 'The Mummy,' it's the perfect action/adventure movie. If you think about what we're trying to do for G.I. Joe, really bringing back that '80s G.I. Joe from the Marvel comics -- those first 155 issues are really our focus. If you think about that, you'll understand what we're trying to get at with all those characters and all the intricate relationships. I don't think you'd see this movie as wacky. I think you're going to see this movie as being inspirational for younger kids and totally in the sweet spot for the guys who grew up on G.I. Joe." So it's not for us(real fans) with quotes like this:"really BRINGING BACK that 80's G.I.Joe..." |

And the movie fits in well with the style and vibe of the Marvel comics. So they did their goal, they brought back the '80s G.I. Joe from the Marvel comics.
Mission accomplished.
