After fixing up those images from Joecon I had been wanting to do this but didn't have the time. But I finally did, a few at least to get started.
I scoured the internet for the biggest pictures I could find of vintage joe box art and hit them hard with photoshop. Much like the joecon art I straightened, corrected perspective, fixed colors, removed blemishes and any other eyesores in order to make them presentable. The result is not up to par with the images from joecon, as the source images I found were of much lower size/quality. As such the tremendous amount of time required to fix them up to that level would be hard to justify. But I tried working with what I could find to a point I felt made sense, and still felt the results were good enough to show. Several of the images I used came from finalfrontiertoys before they redid their website and removed all their high-res pictures. Others came from tanker CG76's flickr. So hats off to them both. I plan to keep on doing this with what I have, which unfortunately is not much, I only have a few joe vehicle pictures from a bunch of different years. So I would like to offer tankers that if they have a boxed vehicle they want to be included to take a picture of it with lots of megapixels and send it to me. Oh, and if anyone else wants to join in and help clean up images, the more the better. These might not be good enough for poster sized prints but I'm sure tankers will find other uses for them. Here we go! Destro's Despoiler (1988) Cobra WOLF (1987) Dreadnok Swampfire (1986) Now these come from worse quality source images so I fixed them enough not to go insane... Tiger Shark (1988) Persuader (1987) I've been working on a Serpentor on chariot but unfortunately do not feel like the quality is good enough. There will be more coming anyway. Help out by providing pictures of your MIB items! Here's an index of stuff in the rest of the thread: INDEX Page 1: Destro's Despoiler (1988), Cobra WOLF (1987), Dreadnok Swampfire (1986), Tiger Shark (1988), Persuader (1987) Page 4: Cobra STUN (1986), Thunder Machine (1986), Devilfish (1986), Star Brigade Armor-Bot (1993), MMS (1982), BF2000 Vindicator (1987) Page 5: BF2000 Vector Jet (1987), Dreadnok Cycle (1987), Cobra Sea Ray (1987), Defiant Space Vehicle Launch Complex (1987) Last edited by Adamantite; 06-04-2011 at 10:21 PM.. Damn! Those are killer. I'd love to save these, but they keep only "half-loading"! (the bottom half is gray). Could you PM me the JPEGs?
EDIT: Nevermind. If I open them in Imageshack they load and save fine. Last edited by Cobra Terrorist; 12-24-2010 at 05:50 PM.. |

I loved the Wolf as a kid, but laughed at the thought of "Croc Master" being anywhere in the artic. |

Yeah, imageshack must be swamped. If images aren't loading correctly here try holding down CTRL as you refresh. That forces your browser to download everything again instead of just using what's on the cache. Glad that you guys liked these. |

Could you upload them as a zip or rar file to MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service so us with slow connection could download them?
Thanks! |
