This is too funny. It's amazing how critics of the new stuff coming out forget how incredibly silly the old stuff was, too. Nonetheless, it provided for good times as a kid. In defense of guys like Quick Kick who roams the Arctic bare foot and shirtless after being ditched from a film crew (seriously, dude needs a new agent). I think alot of that was done so the kids could identify the character with the figures being sold. I mean, back then we didn't get "Arctic" versions or "Jungle" Versions. We got the one figure and that figure was the guy we used whether it was the snow, city, desert, ocean, or jungle. The cartoon reflected this. Did it make sense, not really. But hey...

There was an episode where Cobra robbed Fort Knox set, for whatever reason, in the nonexistent desert of Kentucky... yeah.
Anyway, Cobra used an underground train to get away and the Joes vehicles couldn't keep up so they drove their VAMPs, MoBats and Sluggers to a nearby thoroughbred farm, hopped on a handful of horses and not only made up for the lost time of the sidetrip but also ran down the train. ...Yeah. Edit: Wait, I found a better play-by-play: http://samuraifrog.blogspot.com/2009_07_19_archive.html Last edited by Hicks_Royel; 09-15-2010 at 06:41 AM.. |

Every time the Commander yelled "Cobra retreat!" Cobra just drove or flew away.

I have rewatched the entire series recently and WOW there are so many stupid things I can't believe I didn't remember them. As a kid I guess I either glossed over them or actually enjoyed them.
As for why Joes never chased Cobra when they retreated... especially when they usually had a captive of some sort... wow that just boggles the mind. And yet look at us in Afghanistan watching the Taliban take over villages in Pakistan but not attacking because they're "out-of-bounds" or "called time-out". So maybe it's not all so dumb after all. One of my favorites though- that "Bree" chick giving Lifeline a GOLD-Plated Huey! She could have AT LEAST sprung for a Blackhawk! |

I was going to to say Fatal Fluffies as well. But not because of the Fluffies themselves, but one of the Joes misreading the card they found talking about the Fluffies little secret. You would have to watch it. The guy was off a good bit.
