Btw, with the example above, let's say game ends on friday, it would be cool to have the mission game starting on Monday ti'll next friday, when new real game starts.
You get a weekend of full rest, and a diversion ti'll game starts again. You could use it also to decide the MVP or something like that too. ;)

So... my very specific preference, I guess wouldn't be liked by too many (even mah fe4rle55 le4d3r).
I'd like to play Monday to Friday (5 days) and Saturday & Sunday off (2 days), followed by 2 weeks off (14 days). Some scenarios would be multi-parters, so a two-parter would be 5 days on/2 days off/5 days on/2 days off/14 days off, for example. |

Oh don't get me wrong, I simply added that bit at the end if we're just going by the poll to decide the length of the game. I feel many more people will vote for longer games, which isn't a bad thing, it shows they are having fun.
I had no doubt that my opinion would be considered and noted with you C-La. huh... I voted "Meh" but I don't our leader to burn out! Change my answer to short games.

C-La,
Something I was thinking about between the two games, is perhaps have them semi related. For example, this game the Special Ops ended fast (as you said yourself you lowered some numbers as it was the first time, better on the easy end vs. the hard), maybe the winning team gets an advantage or something. Because if the special ops cleared soem behind the scenes stuff, the winning teams strike force should have a clear advantage that the other teams do not... maybe they get an extra Action command, or some of the Special Ops can now join the Strike Force. Just something, IDK. It can work the same way if the Strike Team finishes early maybe the Special Ops teams get a action or move bonus or an additional Action Command or HQ item. Umm that was just a thought. shrug. |

Basically, the team that can post faster/earlier will do it first. So, added to the fact you achieve the objective first, you'll get even more advantage with a bonus, making a difference too big. As it is now, i'm not too thrilled with the HQ bonuses, but that's another matter.

No matter where you change the restart time to, it will be where the dogpile happens... and it will be inconvenient to someone to post at that time. A restart time is also necessary for a turn based, chronological priority game system. Some people don't even have a phone to post to the internet to, I don't think a couple minute delay in remote posting is going to garner much support for a radical change in the system. |

All of you voting for a long game should be leaders. Planning the strategies, getting out the orders and making sure everyone follows them to a T..... you'll be praying for short games after doing this for 3 rounds!

As it is, now, SO & SF are essentially two different games running at the same time and only related by crossover of command actions. Half the game could stop being played and not be noticed by the other half. Being able to claim "field position" from one or the other victory, it makes perfect sense to offer an advantage/bonus. This is why all downs in a football game aren't played from the 50. |
