Worst Memory:
Not being able to buy "ACTION FORCE" figures anywhere in the North West of England for a whole year after becomming aware of the new "Cobra" concept, writing to 'Palitoy' asking where they were stocked, getting a reply full of useless information, totally giving up on getting any figures post "Red Shadow" era. Best Memory: A year later, stumbling across a pokey little shop in Wales while on holiday and finding FLASH, BREAKER, BLOWTORCH, DESTRO, COBRA COMMANDER, MAJOR BLUDD, ZARTAN & SWAMP SKIER, a WATER MOCCASIN and the "Action Force Battle Pack" that contained a CLAW, DUKE, RIPCORD and a COBRA TROOPER...(all on the red, white & blue ACTION FORCE cards) All on the same day. Expensive, but fruitful!

The year was 1986 or 1987 I believe. My parents just bought a house out in the country and it had a running stream in the back. Not a big stream about 2-3 foot wide and about a foot deep. We had about 5 acres of land that was on a hill covered with trees and brush. A real pretty place almost restful to the eyes. Sinice I had just moved there I did not know anyone, so I had no friends.
It was close to my birthday and My mother took me to the local toy store in the city and she bought me the Tomahawk. I took the Tomahawk home and put it together I put the stickers on her and she was ready to go. I loaded her down with Joes especailly Sgt. Slaughter and Lifeline and ran out to the steam planted Cobra spies, Joe prisoners and whatever else my Imgnation could come up with. I live in the south, so the summers are always hot. I must have lost 10lbs that summer running rescure missions from the deck of the back porch to deep in to Cobra territoy in the woods. I had a blast. Who needed friends. The Joes were the best friends I had that summer. Yo Joe |

i remember waking up and finding the crusader space shuttle and the mauler for christmas one year too. i got a HUGE gi joe box the next year that had images of the 12 inch figures on the side of it like a couple years later that used as my "joe" box which was awesome too.... |
