People mention how they loathe repacking a lot, and I was wondering exactly what is repacking? I assume it is when someone buys a product and swaps out parts or figs and then returns it to the store, is this a good definition? I found a DVD Battles #2 at ross and the tape was open, but I checked through the yojoe collections and all the gear is in it, is one of these figures a likely candidate for being swapped out in a repack? thanks up front for any help!

Repack generally means something has been swapped out. This just sounds like a return, which might bother the MISB crowd, but it is usually innocent and definitely forgivable.

At a store like Ross, it is more likely that some rugrat tore the dvd out than it got repacked and returned.

Simply put Repacking is buying one item, removing it from the package, inserting a different (usually less desirable) item into the same package, and returning it.
For example, a repacker buys the Arise Serpentor Arise DVD pack and only wants Serpentor and Dusty. What does he do with the unwanted Skeleton and Bat? Repack for another figure. He goes out and buys a Blowtorch and a BBQ which he wants, but doesn't have, opens them carefully, and puts the BAT in BBQs packing and the Skeleton in Blowtorch's. He then proceeds to return the 'repacked" BBQ and Blowtorch packages to the store where he gets his money back. This is much easier to do with the ROC figures because of the flap on the bottom of the packing that can be used to hide damage to the plastic bubble that may occur during repacking. |

Yeah, repacking is when you see a RoC steel crusher where the driver has been replaced with a 25th Cobra Blue shirt, which I have seen btw.
