This is one of those figures I never liked from the OG line. Bad repaint, Orange and blue were too bright, it had a bad action feature where one arm would go up while the other went down so it could punch when released, and he came with a really bad vehicle.
The 2013 Dollar General Storm Shadow version 46 repaint based on him was way better with its darker blue sash and a more muted darker orange in a flame pattern. Last edited by sisco; 12-18-2023 at 10:15 PM.. |

You make an excellent point, and that is something I'd never thought about, regarding the 1991 Capcom arcade game, Captain Commando, which had Ginzu the Ninja as one of the four playable characters.
I now wonder if that influenced someone at Hasbro to adopt that name for a G.I. Joe action figure, by simply modifying the name to T'Gin-Zu the Ninja, so that it could pass Legal.

Was it canon where the entire ninja force besides SE SS slice and dice were killed off?

When reading his file card bio, I immediately notice that this Italian has the name Joseph Rainone. (Note: He was a Senior Director and Team Leader with Hasbro from 1986-1996.)
Ninja Force had an eccentric collection of martial artist/soldiers, and yet he was the only team member who was an Arashikage Ninja Master (other than Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow) having over 20 years of training and said to be the best martial arts student Storm Shadow ever taught. (step aside, Billy Kessler)

I definitely thought Hama had them all get fucked up, but maybe they all survived?
