I don't want to rock the boat or anything, but was curious what will people use as their resource for a toy database if when the site expires in the near future? I know that there are books for the vintage stuff, but most don't contain as much info as yojoe. I am also as interested in keeping track of the modern era figures from 2008-2019. I have been referring to this site religiously for many years. I know that it has been acquired and has been sold some years back, but I wonder how much longer they will keep it. It hasn't been updated or maintained since 2018 so I'm just wondering.
The comics are also a great asset as well. I asked about this on their forum, but it seems dead. If anyone has any legitimate answers to this, I'd appreciate it. |

For the vintage stuff, 3djoes is a good alternative (even better than YoJoe, in many areas), it's just not as extensive. Modern stuff is going to be tricky, the only thing I could suggest is updating the database here or starting from scratch and cataloging everything as a community.
Personally, I'm hoping to be done with my collection before it's an issue.

My understanding is that the current owners have a history of buying sites and letting them sit fallow for years, collecting whatever meager trickle of passive income they can still generate from ad revenue.
I don't know that we're really in immediate danger of the existing pages going away, but I certainly wouldn't expect them to ever get updated again, unless someone else steps in and buys the site from them. |

You can order the Rank & File Guide books, which covers every figure of the Modern Era and some of the new sculpt stuff too.

Gotcha...ok thanks.
Yeah, that would be awesome if all or much of the modern stuff could also be archived here. But it IS a tremendous undertaking. The HissTank does have many of the modern figures listed, but I like how each item on yojoe is shown, along with filecards and extra info. |

The database here is fantastic for what it has, I still think we should hold some kind of fundraising event to get the money to increase the servers then start letting people build it up

It's unfortunate that the site sits with so many new products. In the long run, it's probably a good idea to obtain hard copies of guides.

Imagine if Hasbro made their own database.
