It feels really strange to have the regular line basically vintage designs and then the "Retro" line that is also vintage designs just with a color changed or a piece taken off.
I get it if say these were OG versions of say Scarlett, and Gung Ho is the right way to do it, but looking at Zartan, Destro, the CG, etc. and I'm like "This is lazy" and also makes me want to skip the Classified versions and just go with the Retro ones. Bludd and Firefly were the way to go - modern but clearly retro inspired for the main line, and now we're getting a straight new Retro Firefly in the Retro line. As much as I appreciate Lady Jaye and Baroness and Destro and Storm Shadow, it feels like I'm buying the same crap with a slightly different color or weapon. Which makes me feel too much like it's the Black Series BS where they keep releasing carbonized, credit, etc. slight repaints. and I hate those. |

I don't get the hate over Scarlett. I thought she had a great updated outfit and her head sculpt (the variant, anyway) was good, too.
I'd add Outback and Major Bludd to that gold standard list. They both have exceptional head sculpts. Agree about Breaker. He doesn't even come with a sidearm! He should definitely have had a radio pack and pistol, at the very minimum. Breaker isn't going to be walking around carrying the Gatling gun that comes with the RAM. Scarlets battle suit thing, cool as it looks, is a little too advanced. I don't mind seeing joes match cobras tech, if thats their specialty, but scarlet should be more conventional, imo. Then theres the head sculpt. Again, not bad, just not a good fit for the character. Ive always seen her drawn with sharper features and a more hardened look. |

My biggest complaint in regards to the Classified figures is the hips. The majority of the figures I have have legs that can't move properly. I don't know if I'm having bad luck with that or if it's a common problem. I have gotten the legs unstuck with a hairdryer, but when they cool down, they get stuck again. I watched a video where a guy took the legs off and sanded down the nubs on the ball joints, but it is possible to overdo it and I shouldn't have to do it to begin with. I think Hasbro needs to look into that.

Is this kind of a mild venting thread ? haha. I'm actually kinda looking forward to Dusty, even though i know he could look a lot better.Falcon on the other hand just looks disappointing to me,i'd only get him on sale.
As far as the windowless packaging goes,i don't really care for it,esp. with something like the new retro G1 Starscream coming out, part of the attraction with those for me, is the old school packaging and the plastic window.I've passed on Legacy Galvatron and Blitzwing because i can't even see the $50 (or so ) toy. I digress...can you imagine Funko pops going to windowless packaging ? People would lose their shiz haha. |

Hasbro, please give us Classified Zandar sooner rather than later.

It would be really cool to get a Snake Eyes with a whole set of different hand gestures considering that's how he communicated in the comics and the cartoon. I think figure photographers - a subset of collector that has an outsized influence on toys right now - would love that.
