I don't know that I am qualified to offer suggestions to Hasbro, but I do request an 0-ring Dr. Venom and a Classified Dr. Venom, Kwinn, Copperhead, Wild Weasle and Scrap Iron. Wow, that was more requests than I thought I had when I started typing. Lets throw in all the OG-13 in Classified while I am at it.
I also do want to give props to Hasbro for allowing Super-7 to create figures and interpretations that Hasbro is not interested in doing.

Firstly, I want to thank the people at Hasbro responsible for bringing o-rings back! I've been waiting years for this moment! The Skystriker with all the improvements, and all the extras, is a home run, and I happily backed it. I was also excited for the Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes 2 pack, and got those too.
As for suggestions, I'll keep it to the o-ring line as that's what I'm invested in. While I like the idea of potential new characters and sub lines done in the o-ring style, I believe that the classic figures should be the main stay of the line, because they are the foundation of GI Joe and the figures many people are still invested in. There are definitely fans of the OG-13, Destro, Cobra Commander, and the earlier figures, but there are also fans who got into GI Joe in the mid to later years who feel just as strongly about later figures like V2 Storm Shadow, Hit N Run, Night Viper, Alley Viper, Shock Wave, Outback, Eals, Zartan, Iron Grenadiers, Lightfoot, Astro Viper etc. Then there are all the sub lines like Tiger Force, BF2000, Night Force... I would suggest that there be a diversity of figures reissued from different years so that all the fans are considered. What really drew me to GI Joe in the first place was the diversity of all the figures and the different designs, and I would love to see that reflected in this current line. New figures would be a great addition, and bring new blood to the line (the new figures with the Skystriker is a great example of that done right), but not at the expense of the classic figures IMO. I would of course also love to see more vintage vehicles reissued in the line. Last edited by Katana78; 10-31-2021 at 02:37 AM.. |

I echo the idea of three lines. I am only interested in modern figures-TVC or ME joe type details and construction. But other Hasbro properties use multiple lines to appeal to different collectors.
But update the ME/TVC lines. Vietnam was 50-60 years ago. Duke could have joined after 9/11 and would now be a first sergeant. Give Grunt and the rest a modern update. Work in the adventure team. Maybe a crossover with indiana jones. The adventure team could have been developed because of indy's discoveries. |

Absolutely this, and I know this is probably asking a bit TOO much, but I would love an “Expanded Universe”-type sub-line of the Classified series, like what the Gaming Greats or Archive Collection for SW Black Series does - filled with characters from the alternate JOE stuff like Sgt. Savage, Extreme, Sigma 6, etc. Sorry but I’m still a 90s kid at heart.
I would ask is the any truth to hooded C.C. rumor and if it isn't when can we expect to see a hooded C.C. Put the JOEs back into the U.S. military so we can get a proper G.H. except do the camouflage on his pants in the Marine pattern camouflage. Give the people REAL FILE CARDS, and alternate hands.

Maybe a crossover with indiana jones. The adventure team could have been developed because of indy's discoveries. I would be all over modern stories for the Joes and Cobras alike. 9/11 was 20 years ago, which could be an entire career for some soldiers. As mentioned, guys like Duke could easily fit into this storyline. If he had joined at 18, he would be about to enter his 40's with 20 years experience. That is perfect for the role of First Sergeant in the group. Stalker, SE and SS could have their back story develop in Afghanistan instead of Vietnam. A lot of that is transferable. And Cobra could be built from any number of small time terrorist organizations around the world. CC could have been someone effected by the burst of the .com bubble instead of a used car salesman. You could easily incorporate ideas like the Russian election hacking as being something done by Cobra but blamed on others. There's so much opportunity for good stories built around today's era for all these characters. This could help new customers better relate to these characters. A storyline reboot would be great for the line (as long as Channing Tatum isn't involved in anyway). |

I was listening to the Full Force podcast with Emily and Lenny, and it sounds like $20 is going to be the cost per figure going forward. I suggest bringing that down a little. We know that these are low production runs. We know that the metal rivets and t-hooks and silicone o-rings add to the cost, but these are simpler figures, with less articulation=fewer parts. These shouldn't be $7 more than a figure we can go to Walmart and buy now (heck, I complained $13 was too much for a 4" Joe). I don't speak for anyone but myself, but I don't need deluxe packaging. Try to get that cost down and you'll move more total figures. I'll still buy what I can, but I have to justify what I spend vs. other things.
I have confidence the Skystriker will fund, but the biggest complaint is that we just got a new 'striker just 10 years ago. For your next vehicle, aim for something that hasn't been seen since the vintage line, or something new. Lots of folks would like the WHALE, something only repainted once in the vintage line. I'd like a Mauler, which never saw a straight rerelease or resculpt the MOBAT so that it can seat multiple figures. |

I also fail to see how that statement is in any way ambiguous. All it means is that upper management has greenlit her ability to mine any aspect of the GI Joe brand they have rights to. It's a throw everything against the wall and see what sticks approach. It can also include reviewing and renewing trademarks and copywrite. We could see figures that homage the original 12" line to ARAH to Valor vs Venom to the movies, to the comics, etc... I prefer open minded strategies like that compared to other methods that compartmentalize an IP and only allow small sections to be explored.

How is that ambigious?
They are taking designs and characters from all over the history, as we saw with the obscure euro release of Outback getting a release. PDD, and other deep cuts. Croc Master getting an early release in the line, they simply are pulling ideas from everywhere and not sticking to a specific theme. There are four different ways muthafuckas can interpret what Emily was saying. 1) Emily was referring to A.R.A.H. because that what Diagnostik80 was talking about when he asked the question. PanzerKrake seems to agree because the examples he listed were from A.R.A.H. For the purposes of this discussion I'm going to include Valor vs. Venmom 25th Anniversary, Modern Era, 50th Anniversary and Pursuit of COBRA in this group. 2) This shit gets hella nuisanced because Lenny mentions Classified being "reverent to the awesomeness," that was A.R.A.H. 3) Then you have to factor in the inital response the fandom had to the Classified Series. The JOE team may very well want to introduce the other iterations into Classified Serirs but they're hesitant to do so because of the way we responded to Nerf guns and gold shin guards on the most popular JOEs. So if they were hesitant to pull the trigger on adding the original JOEs, Adventure Team,, or Super JOE to Classified I'd understand why. 4) Was Emily referring to the entire line because she mentions the toys, the cartoons, and the comics. Which includes the The Modern Fighting Man (12" jOEs,) Adventure Team Sgt. Savage Extreme, Sigma Six Action Man and Hasbro toy line formerly known as Action Force. Also, keep in mind that that there was a comic book and animated series for Extreme and Sgt. Savage. Y'all have to remember Emily is still "new to this," (and she says so at 54:20) so you can't assume that she knows what we do. We also can't assume that she knows that we would want to see other iterations of JOE in the line. So to add clarity if Emily means we're going to see every iteration of G.I. JOE in the Classified Series she should say so. Emily wants to be directed to JOE reference material so she can continue "to do the education," as it pertains to G.I. JOE, so holla at her.
