Either the Adventure Team led by the G.I.Joe, Joseph Colson or the Ninja Force led by Snake-Eyes.

Let's say GIJoe in the singular was going to be summed up in one person for some kind of crossover, I'd want him to be the AT explorer from the 70s..some kind of ex-soldier now working on his own to stop dangers throughout the globe.

Joseph Bartholomew "G.I. Joe" Colton, a career soldier since the age of 17, was widely known as America's Mobile Fighting Man. He was always ready and willing to fight America's enemies anywhere at any time from the highest mountain top to the deepest ocean trench. However, there came a day when Colton faced an enemy he couldn't fight alone?the Red Shadows.
The Red Shadows was an ancient and infamously ruthless terrorist organization dating back to the English Civil Wars of the 17th century. When the Red Shadows reemerged in the late 1960s, the United States Joint Chiefs of Staff created the top secret special operations unit known as the Adventure Team. From 1970 to 1976, Colton led the Adventure Team in its secret war against the Red Shadows over land, sea, and air. With the aid of an undercover CIA agent codenamed Cobra, the Adventure Team was finally able to crush the Red Shadows in Operation Snake Eyes. Baron Ironblood was slain, and the Red Shadows were scattered to the wind. For his actions during the conflict, Colton was given the Congressional Medal of Honor. For over half a century, it was believed that Joe Colton died in 1977 when his Cessna crashed into Mt. Shasta. Although no body was found, Colton was declared dead and given a hero's funeral. However, the truth was far more bizarre?Joe Colton had actually been abducted by aliens. In 1976, Colton had come across what he described as "Extraterrestrial Intruders" during a helicopter patrol in the jungles of Burma. The aliens appeared to be in raiding the area for slaves. Colton fought them off, freeing the enslaved natives and forcing the Intruders to retreat to their starship and flee the planet. Colton suspected he'd have to deal with these aliens again one day, but he had no idea that day would come just a year later when the Intruders caught his Cessna into a tractor beam and knocked him out with some sort of stun ray. When Colton regained consciousness, he was on a starship many lightyears away from Earth. The Intruders were actually the slave-soldiers of the Lunartix Empire, a vast interstellar empire on the opposite side of the galaxy. Colton was made a slave and forced to fight in gladiatorial games for the amusement of the mad Lunartix Emperor. But Colton did not take this new state of affairs lying down. Together with other captives, Colton started an uprising and stole a starship he renamed the Defiant. With the Defiant, Colton and his Space Adventure Team waged a decades-long guerilla war against the Lunartix Empire. |

The Adventure Team weren't the only ones fighting the good fight against the Red Shadows. The Central Intelligence Agency did their part by sending one of their best agents to infiltrate the Red Shadows and provide intelligence. This agent, codenamed Cobra for his lightning-quick reflexes and expertise in poisons, had a mind like a steel trap. This enabled him to withstand the Red Shadow's indoctrination techniques that had been honed for centuries. However, there was one thing the CIA didn't account for when they sent him--his ambition! Cobra rather liked being part of the Red Shadows, but he didn't want to take orders from Baron Ironblood and his heirs for the rest of his life. He wanted to be a commander, not a follower. If he had wanted that kind of life, he would've stayed working for his brother at the car dealership!
And so, Cobra did his mission as planned, helping the Adventure Team to eat away at the Red Shadows while secretly embezzling some of the Red Shadows' funds for his own little nest egg. During Operation Snake Eyes, Cobra faked his death and fled underground. He found the various money and weapons caches he placed all over the world and started a ruthless new terrorist organization. He even recruited former Red Shadows agents such as the Baron's own younger sister, Anastasia, to serve in his new army. To taunt his former CIA handlers, he named this new organization after his old codename--COBRA! |
