Are the 90/00s re-release of vintage figures holding up better than the vintage ones (thumbs, hips, etc)? I'd like to pick some up for the lad for play, but not sure if it is worth the trouble (and likely cost to pick up specific figures).
Cheers! |

npt really the modern figures do 2007. valor vs venom and spy troopers are more durable too. but the 90s and early 2000 re issues break just as easy.

1997 Joes are prone to breaking at the shoulders, because rivet sizes and plastic quality or something.
All ARAH molds will have potential for breaking crotches and knees. "New sculpt 2002-2006" are better, but still can get broken crotches and some figures have issues with the torsos cracking a bit (Zarana, NIght Creeper and BAT MK3 especially). Plus side is almost no one cares about most of them, so cheaper. Modern era. Sure no broken thumbs or crotches, but give modern/25th figures to a younger kid, he'll rip the hands out, pop the heads off, take off the webgear...lose them all. (I've seen this with super articulated star wars figures even more) The figures are prone to loose hip joints without that much "play", too. |

In another thread it was said that ROC figures are the most durable of the Modern Era. Have you found this to be true? Based on my limited figure selection this would be the case, but my selection is quite limited. So in review, it would be New Sculpt + ROC (+ The Corps) vs the field in terms of kid durability.

the repaint o-ring figs are amazing though! and I'd have to highly agree with the ROC figs being the most durable. It is amazing how durable ROC attack on the PIT Baroness is.
