So I started collecting Gi Joes to recapture the awesome times I had as a kid with my old joes, but I was thinking to my self dam the toys kids have now suck. Hasbro is trying but the future looks bleak for kids.So I was thinking when there old enough I will wrap up my vechicles and figures and give them to them as birthday and christmas gifts so they can relive the childhood awesomness that I had growing up. Imagine my boys look on his face when he opens up a Flagg! I will also take all the stickers off and get reproduction one so they can have fun with that too. What do you guys think, is anyone doing this already.

Honestly, I passed my Joes on to my brother (13 years age difference) and he passed some of them on back to my boys.
It's a great idea you have- I just scrounge for what I can get from vintage and modern, and sometimes I find a non-Joe thing I can rebuild or up-fit to the Joes for them. That makes it fun for me and them! |

I was talking about gi joes specificly, when is the last time you saw a desent vechicle or the amount of vehicles being produced like during the times of ARAH. I gave Hasbro some credit refering to the 25th and 3oth line but how long will this last. I don't think we will see that kind of scale of operations again. What happend to kids playing in the back yard for hours using there imagination now it seems like there glued behind a video game screen, just my observation.

Yeah, kids (and not so kids) today prefer video games. I guess it's easier, a video game has everything served and cooked up, no need for imagination. Faster and easier. Parents* are somewhat guilty of this too...it's easier for them too, since having your kids controled is simplier when they're just sitting zombified in front of a screen. *not us of course lol

The reason we don't see a decent amount of vehicles and because kids aren't outside playing in their backyards anymore. Hasbro has to produce to match the market. It's a nice idea to pass your old toys onto your kids, but I wouldn't do it as xmas presents unless they've already shown an interest in the Joe toys. Talk about a disappointing xmas if it's something they don't want. My thing has always been that I want the Joebrand to grow and thrive. I want to argue with my grandkids someday over whose Duke is better, my ARAH Duke or their G.I. Joe Version 5.0 Duke.
