I was sitting around the house this afternoon and thinking. Why dosen't Hasbro come out with a really cool 3D shooter of G.I.Joe?! I would think if they could get Crytek (the company that had made Crysis) to develop it- Hasbro would have a really awesome game product on their hands. In the game you could play various Joes or Cobras depending on whitch side you choose. So why not Hasbro??? What do you guys think of the idea?
Here is my artist rendering of what it could look like! |

The problem with a first person shooter is you lose the character likeness. Nobody really cares who is behind the gun. It could be Snake Eyes or Duke and nobody would know the difference. Plus, with characters like SE you would want them to be able to use swords and jump around to take advantage of the environments. A third person game (think Assassin's Creed) would be far more effective, not only from a character design standpoint but also for more accurate playability.
On a side note, your rendering looks awesome!

Well that is why you have the little face of the character in the lower left of the screen. Plus you could always have an option in where you could go into 3rd person. As for the sword use- it could be treated as a power-up mode and used only at certain times. Have you ever played Jedi Knight II Outcast. I was a game designer for Raven Software, and we put in the game that you could set certain skill levels more over others. So it would depend on what you choose to be more proficient in. I still think it could make some really cool game play.

Hasbro isn't in the video game business to the extent that it would take to make a really good game. not to mention, to get Crytek to make a G.I. Joe game it would require Crytek to want to make it, not Hasbro to want them to make it.

I think a G.I.JOE game done in the style of SW Battlefront design would be fitting! adding both sides cobra vs. joe's and throwing in some zombies would be fun!!

Take Modern Warfare and put it into third person and you have a winner.
