Those were great times! That's back when they had vehicles out of their package on display hanging from those peg racks like the Aircraft Carrier or the Terror Drome. I especially liked it when ToysRUs used to take everything out of the shipping cases and put them in the overstock area on top the shelves. When I was a kid back in the 80's, I could look up and see toys go on right up the the ceiling.
There was a time - back in 85 or 86 when my local ToysRUs had one whole isle in the back of the store past the bike section that had one side all GI JOE and one side all Transformers. They had EVERYTHING. It was a dream back then. That was back when they had Transformers like Rodimus Prime and Cyclonus on the shelves, so it must have been around 86 during the Transformers movie. Here it is 25 years later and I have never seen either GI JOE or Transformers so well stocked ever again. I loved going there and seeing all the cool stuff like HeMan, MASK, Centurions, Sectaurs, Visionaries, Air Raiders and all that cool stuff from the 80's. Truly a golden time. |

I just don't even believe it. Just ... wow. You know, I don't think I ever got to go to a TRU when I was a kid. It was always these weird farmtown stores, Alco and Ace Hardware.

I loved going to the toy store in the 80's. Toys where stocked for a full year if not longer so if you wanted to buy something but couldn't afford it, you could save up and buy it later. Try that now. If you don't buy it when you see it, you may never have a chance at finding it again. I hate that.
