The Bruder chassis is pretty awesome. With the chap mei cab the front axle will have to move forward about an inch and I'll cut it to bring the front wheels in closer to the cab.
I too have thought about cutting the Bruder cab, but it still is just so massive. The rear troop part that I cut off the warthog fits nicely against the cab though. I'll post a pic of that later. Please share thoughts and ideas. Especially on the gun mount. Thanks, |

I was going to cut an inch out down the center of the cab and then glue the two halves back together. Also possibly cut the back off behind the doors and take a half inch out that direction as well.

Dremel, I think that would make a huge improvement. For me, I get stuck on the windows. The roof needs to come down.
It's such a cool cab though. I'm going to go and get the name of the tanker who reworked one. Hold on. |

Your one on the treads looks like a real Snow Cat. I think you could get away with just making the windows smaller in some kind of like an old school ww2 look.

The one you bumped up has an unmodified cab he just made the seats smaller. I do think the windows are too big on it but like I said that's an easier fix than cutting up the whole thing.

Yeah, drjoejustices used the cab and chassis as is and it totally works. Having had my hands on a bruder cab, it's immense scale really shows when you start adding Joe vehicles around it.
I'm with you both on modding the windows. A wrap of "plate" and a row of slit windows. Mine is just set on the tracks. I'd like to use the cab, but I don't have a direction yet. I think if I use it I'll go more snow cat adventure team and leave it as is. Cut a passage through the back to get to the lab. Anyway, gatling mount? Pic to follow. |

This is what I'm planning. Gatling mounted on a post into the side of a geodesic radar/sensor dome that mounts to the roof.
Second pic is a more traditional look to a phalynx system. Large r2d2 sensor dome on top and an ammo drum (short cut of pvc pipe) mounted below. This would pivot on two side supports that rotate on a base. I'm keeping everything modular. R2d2 style will replace my havoc mount on my ttbp. Thoughts? |
