Formidable, please make critiques. I chose to move the front axle forward to match the dragon cab. When I drilled for the new placement, of course, I went too low, which places the front end high leaving too much exposed. I plan to redrill and add an "axle tube" that will place the wheels closer to the cab and also the correct distance away from the chassis.
It will help the spacing, hopefully enough. She's a big truck anyway. Thanks and keep the ideas coming. |

Personally I say leave it high and just add styrene under slanting in to give it a V-shaped MRAP style hull. Then maybe extend the fenders just a little. But I like the stature of the way it sits

Hey Dremel, once I get the axle in the correct place I think it will look right. I too like the stature, but I don't like the high front end. Now the wheel well gap I think I will leave alone. The mwrap style stuff is cool, but a lot of work. Extending the fenders would look awesome, but I don't think I can do it cleanly enough. I'll leave them be and just have most of the tire exposed.

Can you just shorten the front axle? The front wheels look wider than the back if they aren't I'd just add some fender flares.

The front and rear tires and axles are the same. I will be cutting the front axle to reduce the track width. This will pull the tires in. The issue is the bruder chassis, it's really wide. Flares are an option, but I'm concerned with how cleanly I can do them. I did use heat to bend some pvc, so maybe I'll try that to make some flares.
This pic puts the wheel where it will go. Notice the chassis. The wheel here is pushed in further than the rear. Really, the open wheels don't bother me much. Last edited by Squashfest; 04-03-2015 at 07:10 PM.. Reason: more info |

In that case I think I'd just leave the axle alone. I'm sure you could build cool looking fender flares.

Cut the trailer base. 3 axles. Extensions are beside the trailer, but they didn't cut straight. I'll toss new ones through the table saw. This will make the trailer about as wide as the Bruder. The M1A1 is slightly wider. And I made it long, as this rig is giant, which allows the cut Warthog troop carrier to also fit.
