hi guys!this is another commission work from a client of mine.
---- Sorry if some wip pics seems to jumble, in the middle of the progress i've decided to turn it into an RC so early pics looks weird in the succeeding..hahaha!! --- since my vintage skystriker is not with me to work (in las pinas), its time for me to deal on one ground vehicle i like.its a World Peacekeepers : Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV). i think its an existing tank in real world so i guess this thing rocks!oh, btw this vehicle is not mine i wish i had one. anyway, cracking this kit to open is a very hard task. Dont be fooled on its appearance, i tell you its like cracking up a new skystriker when opening this. Its hard, its plastic is very thick to cut..anyhow..let the pics say some words. i think im done with one of the major part which is Cutting those thick freakin' plastic. my challenges here are: - modify /cut / bore the hatches so regular figures can fit it nicely. - add opening doors at rear end - custom colors - custom decals - LED lights - Install RC System and battery compartment - and lots of details pics!! boxed kit It has 4 access door on top at rear end but figures can only seat not inside, and 2 opening hatches..same configuration. sorry for my poor shots, i was rushing at this point..hahaha!! doc john, just borrowing your pics for reference. so as you can see figures can fit inside the compartment..just sitting outside half!hahha here you can see the rear doors are fixed pop the tank into halves, turn it over heres what you will encounter! those box like containers are used to hold the figures outside, not for inside compartment. ok..now..the hardest part.. cutiing those! unfortunately, i have no pics of the cutting part, but this are my result. its not yet cleaned trimmed or beveled yet. taddah!! and the rear door..they took it out..hahha!! After much debating to myself and also got a go signal from the client, i decided to convert this Infantry fighting vehicle into an RC, still can carry enough figure that can literally fit in. On the real setting, once the whole truck is complete its really hard to put in all of the figures inside since the only big opening is the rear door and once hand can't fit in, so its just few figures away from reality aside from the 2 drivers at front.anyway, let the pics tell you some progress. INITIAL RC SET-UP: the IFV on its initial Remote Controlled stage.I can say that this is the hardest part of the modification since i need to carefully align the motor servo, the rear motor and wheel set.,once fixed theres no turning back.i have to do a lot of cutting and boring since i need enough clearance for the front wheels to steer correctly..and not forget to mention those RIM wheel covers are really pain in the @$$..eerrr..i nearly broke one of them, so hard to pop it up. and its a success! i will be covering all the exposed hull with styreen once im successfull in the test run. FIXED RC SET-UP after i was successful in having its test run ( will load a video clip of the test run once i get my 4 pcs battery holder ), i soldered all the wires so it will look neat.since i dont have shrink tubes or electrical tape, i just used masking instead, works the same though. switch: here's an image with call out labels: Steering test: as of now im just completing the RC components, after this i will also install a separate light set up with a an independent battery for it so it wont consume much of the rc power. thats it! please stay tune. nath Last edited by nath_1977; 05-07-2012 at 11:24 PM.. |

thanks.
got free time last night.. bore the "mesh like" grille at the top, the big square one and that small rectangular one. This will serve as the battery chamber. setting up also the front lights, i drill out that fake yellow lamp and will be replacing them with Super bright white LED lights. i forgot to take pics of the assembled rear door with hinged installed. thats it for now my hands are soring now. nath |

I R/Ced a 25th Anniversary Vamp and know how difficult that is. This is looking good. Will this have two wheel drive or four?
