Hi everyone. I have some troopers from the cobra legions box set, their hands are painted and I would like them to not be painted, does anyone know of something that will remove the paint and not destroy the plastic? Also the yellow paint on the leg, I would like to remove that too.
The other figures are the scar comic pack officer, I'm wondering if anyone knows of anywhere I can buy different knees that fit on him or of any secondary brands that sell webgear or vests or anything for them? Also does anyone know of anything to replace the yellow knife clips? I have tons of these 2 figures I've never done anything with and just found marauder and bought some stuff for them from there, and it's great, but it gets expensive fast lol. |

Acetone will work on the soft plastic like the hands, but will melt the hard plastic like the knees and upper legs.
I think heavy alcohol solution could work as well and will not eat your plastic. I find that to be effective on after factory paint, but not great for factory paint, but mileage may vary.

Sounds like a paintbrush, a bottle of Tamiya Flat Black, and some paint practice is the cheapest solution to all you needs. Paint all the yellow and flesh parts you noted black. If you mess up, can erase all you work with qtips/paper towels and 75 or 90% rubbing alcohol.
When finished, throw all that stuff away else head down an unescapable rabbit hole... Parts are easier to paint per your needs if they are removed/ disassembled. Let us know if you need guidance with all that... |

But I can't get it all out of the cracks and stuff. I've tried a small paint brush and I ruined my toothbrush, neither really worked, but I prefer the look of no paint. Anyone have any pointers other than spend an hour on each hand? |

My problem with paint is that it all rubs off very easily. Is there a type of paint/vanish/primer etc combination that makes it not rub off? All I really have is my miniature paints, which are acrylic based, also I'm new to it since I just started, and it's just for Heroquest. But since I have all this stuff now I thought I'd give them a go since there's like 30 of them and they've sat in a box for 10 years.

Most acrylics ought to adhere well enough that you can't wipe them off. Vallejo and Citadel seem fairly popular around here. You can try lightly sanding the parts to give the paint something to hold onto.

Do you know which combination of primer > paint > varnish works best? Or which varnish works for acrylic paint?
Also, I'm still looking for knees and vests/webgear if that's a thing anyone sells or if people have extra they don't want. |

Any varnish will work. Hobby lobby or Michaels has an abundance
