I do know but its also good to spread knowledge , i use a bit of clear coat on a lot of stuff before painting especially elbows that or have to sand the shit out of it just to take paint for a few poses ..
Ugh

Have you ever used Krylon Triple Thick Crystal Glaze? I'm about to start a McFarlane DC White Knight Batcycle repaint and kind of want to try in on the tank and body. Offset the glass finish with Ultra Matte. Could look awesome. But I ain't ever used it.

After years of being annoyed at having to sand down elbow and knee joints, I finally realized that a pretty good fix is to dremel out the inside of the upper and lower leg / arm. It's much easier than sanding down the actual knee or elbow itself, and it doesn't make the joint loose as long as you aren't messing with the side where the joints make contact, but you can't see it anyway.
Unfortunately, with some of the newer figures, like the Retro ones and the classified or Marvel Legends figures, they have gotten rid of the removable pegs, which makes this a bit more challenging to pull off successfully. HM

HM Agree on both points , they are making it harder to disassemble figs , the only bad thing about pinless is no pins to take out .. there are ways around it ive been doing it for years with shoulders etc .just makes it take longer

I like to buy paint pens for small details but short of buying the very big sets of 40+ different pens there is certain "earth tones" I just can't find, I managed to find "flesh tone" paint pens but what would be very useful is sets of shades of the same colour so like shades of "woodland green" or shades of Red or shades of blue.
Has anyone seen anything like that ? Failing that even a navy blue or forest green pen would be useful on it's own all I find are these "bright and colourful" shades and metallics the occasional neon.. but nothing more natural in tone. Anyone spotted anything like that anywhere (especially ebay or Amazon ?) Thanks |

I have and you have to apply that sparingly i mean super extra light coats minimum 12? away from it it will glob up in a second and ruin your project and you better hope when you spray it the paint and the project are the same temperature or close .. i like krylon but that extra thick glaze is a pita to use on plastic ,
I would go and spend the $$$ on this or the army painter brand ? krylon and rust-oleum glazes are rough I actually have a can of that but have never used to. Will it deliver a "like glass" effect?

It gives it a good sheen if thats what you mean .. it will be shiny even though its not really a gloss . I use it on everything try it on something you dont care about with a semi gloss or matte finish and see how that looks first ..

Thanks The only thing i can think of are the gundam paint markers/pens they are great but i havent seen a flesh tone and probably wont ever since they are for gundams not people but they have over a 100 colors and look great when not applied with a heavy hand/fingers . Only other thing i can suggest is army painter or citadel colour rattle can ?flesh tone? they have 5-6 different tones btwn the 2 companies so that might be an answer to your problem ive only brushed flesh tone on a whole figure a handful of times ,its a crap shoot it doesn't look good unless you dilute it a bit and then have to do 4-5 light coats to get there but a little wet sanding goes a long way as well if you choose that route and then you shade/weather/wash it & viola its a totally different look .. Im more into customizing vehicles now than figures i used to pump out figures like slice does but i dont have/want to make more time for it so i work on stuff when i want to . did start working on 8 different figures recently and 2 vehicles ones just some add ons the other not sure yet ..
