I like Model Masters it's just the color selection is rather subpar. Citadel has a nice color selection, but even they lack a few things like a really dark blue. I'm really liking the idea of Reapers Triad sets (like rosy skin, rosy skin shadow, rosy skin highlight0 for fleshing out colors and experimenting, plus they have a pretty vast assortments of colors. Of course, they're available locally here at a hobby store so that's a plus, but they're on Amazon as well.

Okay—thanks! Will eventually try one out!

I'm glad the topic of paint has come up. Like many others I use exclusively Model Masters, but as has already been stated it is going away so I'm looking to change over. I purchased some Vallejo and it was okay. I wasn't overly impressed and definitely a sealer was required unlike Model Masters.
To my point Model Masters flesh colors have always been lacking (I usually mix Warm Skin Tone and regular Skin Tone) but they dry out very quickly unlike other Model Master paints. What is everyone's thoughts on Citadel paints. I've never tried them, but I think I'm going to. Also, what colors of Citadel paints make the best flesh tone. Just a base flesh tone not anything special. If you've seen my customs I'm trying to mimic the old 80s cartoon looks so it was just a base flesh with no highlights or shading etc.

As a Testors sycophant, Citadel is in pole position to take over as my new paint. I've only used a color or two so far, but it applies nicely, dries comparably to Testors, and seems more durable than Vallejo. I'd still recommend a top coat, but if you are only displaying your customs, you might be able to get away without one.

If I use it it’s very minimal.

Awesome. How are their flesh tones? Which ones are best to mix together?

Kislev or rat skin will probably be your best bet for your work. Both easy to lighten or darken for your 80s projects.

THANK YOU! I love testors, but like I said their flesh tone is terrible. It's okay for a couple of weeks and then it dries out in the jars. I'll put those two in my cart to order.
