I've recently discovered the joys of kitbashing, and I'm amazed at how much of a difference a simple head-swap and or gear-swap can make to really improve a figure.
Anyways, I'd love to see some of my fellow Tankers' "bashes," as I'm looking for some new ideas myself. Anything that doesn't involve painting or molding or anything like that, as I have zero artistic talent. I'm interested specifically in things that I (and my fellow artistically-challenged Tankers)can do! Any and all replies are appreciated! |

Steel bride head on a 3 pack airborne body with mouses helmet and renegades ripcords shades makes a great flightline worker.
The Extra head POC Dusty comes with on mouses body with NCC Night Foxes vest makes... ionno what this guys name is but hes cool...sort of like Wave 2 DG shippy body with Steel brigade head and ret Flints web gear, again cool looking dude without a name yet. I have actually considered posting some of these and asking you guys which joe characters they should be. Two Jungle BAT bandoilers thrown across a W2 DG Duke body with a tread ripper Cluth head makes a passable Rock and Roll. Ret Cobra troopers head on w 2 DG CC body and W 2 DG Cobra troopers helmet makes a guy I call " Cobra General" Ret Joe trooper with the extra helmet from 30th sci fi, Airtights geiger counter and air tank is what I call a Steel brigade hazmat trooper. Volcano Viper with a discover teh force Naboo pilots trench coat on him makes a spiffy Hazard Viper officer, really the oranges of the coat and Haz Vipers suit are a pretty good match. Real simple one, the extra helmet and goggles from POC Alley Viper on a DG W 1 Cobra trooper, then THAT sitting on a nice all black Maisto motorcycle is just what it sounds like, A Cobra trooper analogue to the Motor Viper. I put the extra heads from the renegades Cobra trooper ( The Cobra corporate security guys) on DG W 1 Snake eyes bodies, vast and all and call them Cobra Naval troopers, " Sea Snakes" BONUS: When the Snake eyes V 4( I think the one the DG w 1 is based off of) came out back in the day I thought it was snake eyes in cobra disguise because the colors looked so Cobra, so I finally made the Cobra he supposedly stole the uniform from. I actually use my imagination a lot and PLAY with my toys I am on travel right now but if I were back at my house I could sit and do this all night because I make a lot of these new characters, I make them faster than I can name them and make up bios for them. I put an Ash Williams head on a shipwreck body with an over the shoulder holster for a ghetto Ash from Army of Darkness.

Don't often get away with simple kitbashes, but this one is.

I've noticed a lot of colors are reused on figures, not only the figures themselves, but gear, matching up gear of the same color is a good way to make a good kitbash without painting IMO.
A good example of this is one of my eaglehawk's door gunners. I call him "Flatline" It's 30th lifeline's head,25th Sgt Airborne's helmet, and a JP mercenary vest on a different body. a dollar general wave 2 shipwreck would make a more affordable version of this guy, over what I did,and shipwreck's green color would probably match way better too,but as you can see sgt.airborne's helmet is the identical green as that JP mercenary's vest. Those are the kind of bashes I like. Stupid simple. |

In the long run I wound up painting the figure and called him 'Bad Penny'. But as a kit bash, I call him my Ultimate Firefly.
