If the figures come out half as nice as the cards, they will be some amazing customs. Can't wait to see them finished. I've had the parts for a Satin figure and a Col. Slash for a while now, just haven't been motivated to get them done.

I'm surprised there aren't more customs of the BG Snake Eyes. Yikes. Poor Snake.
I think the "cobra worker" uniforms are pretty cool. It was fun seeing a different design since I missed this series as a kid. For the hat..maybe Shockwave's with Resolute Destro's earmuff thing? A resolute Duke helmet with the face plate cut off and a brim glued on may work. There was a Star Wars Hoth Rebel solder with removeable helmet that could maybe have the goggles trimmed off, altough I can't remember exactly what the cartoon helmets looked like. Something like V2 Green Firefly's hat if I recall. Too bad that wasn't removeable! |

Yep, watching POD the other day, the Cobra worker uniforms was one of the few things I did like. It's pretty much all over the map with silliness. Thanks! You're very kind. |

Update: Added the POD logo to the card.
And here's a WIP pic of the custom figure: Base figure is a Marvel Universe Mr. Fantastic. I didn't like the poor articulation of the original figures head (it was in permanent "look at the ground" mode), so I cut the neck off along the collar bone, dremeled and repositioned it. I dremeled and sanded some of the flashing off of the seem lines as well. I carefully trimmed the curly q's from the forehead. All the new sculpting was done with white stuff sculpting compound. I added the beard & extra hair, undershirt collar, vest, and sleeves. I felt I needed to mute some of the original figure's over stated muscles (chest, stomach, back and arms) as well, since the POD Shipwreck looked a little more like a Star Trek outfit than a full blown super hero suit. All the sculpting was carefully sanded for a smooth finish. The base coat of paint will reveal any huge flaws in the sanding and I may have to address it again, but it seems ok at this point. I had to laugh out loud when I finished the sculpting. He looks like Kenny Rogers with that white beard. Hopefully a good paint job will remedy that. Thanks for taking a look and for any comments or suggestions you might have. I am looking for a loose Polly to go with this custom, so if you have an extra, let me know. Thanks! I'm working on my POD Snake-Eyes too. Hope to have some WIP pics soon... Last edited by timshinn73; 04-25-2010 at 06:51 PM.. |
