For those of you who have not checked out Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, do yourself a favor and head to youtube... you can find some episodes in parts online if you search for "Cadillacs and Dinosaurs"... unfortunately only one season of this series was ever made, but the animation was decent and the title song was b!itchin'
Well, until it comes back as a new movie (hey if they can bring Knight Rider back anythings possible) here's Jack Tenrec: Jack was made from a Gi Joe RoC Hawk body, with a Pit Commando vest and head. I added sculpt for his super hairdo and arms, and a little bit under the head to give him more neck. The anti-poacher rifle he carries was from a Lanard Corps gift pack but I had to trim the handle so he could hold it better, then decided it looked wayyy better painted. The symbol on his chest is a tiny decoupaged wrench with a green leaf on a black gear, signifying that he's an "old blood mechanic" who believes in the "machinatu-vitae", or "machinery of life".... basically like Circle of Life from Lion King but less Disney and more auto show. Way cooler. Cheers and enjoy! Last edited by vidmouse; 12-11-2009 at 01:15 PM.. |

Two questions: First, are you going to look for dinos in the same scale to add to the set, and Second, will you be doing the poachers characters as well?

Dinos in the same scale:
Hadn't quite planned on it... tho my son has some fisher price dinos that make great crunching screaming noises that would look great if they weren't bright yellow and orange Heh, I might see if he's willing to trade up so I can spray paint them. He's into Hot Wheels more now anyway... Poachers: Hadn't planned on this either, but I guess every set of good guys needs bad guys to fight, eh? The original toys only had two poachers that I recall, Hammer, and some other guy. From the cartoon I recall Hammer and Governor Sharnhorse being the top creeps, though Sharnhorse did more of a "within-the-law" bad-guy job-- kinda like business suit Lex Luthor, but a woman. I might do a Hammer and Sharnhorse, plus some Dreadnoks as poachers if I get around to it. No wait, don't have 'noks in the fodder bin, never mind. Maybe wrestling guys. Yeah. Sharnhorse is the trickier one... I need some beefy big chick to pull it off. Whew! Quite a challenge but I like it. Will take awhile tho, as I'm in the middle of a few 6 and 7" scale customs to finish off too for something else. FYI, I do have a 7" scale Hannah Dundee also made, was wondering if it'd be appropriate to show in this forum given my other Hannah custom? |
