Hi guys,
First time posting one of my custom pieces, but have been looking at everyone else's excellent work for years and have learned a lot, so big thanks to all those awesome customizers out there sharing what they do. This project started with a fever dream of one of my friends and had and even older friends input and ideas to make this custom Cobra vehicle with driver. The idea for the driver came first. Yes, both are insane. Yes this is pure silliness, but we all need a laugh in this day and age. Picture in your mind, a vintage GI JOE commercial with the voice of the legendary Jackson Beck announcing this new arrival to the toy line: "Tired of being fat-shamed by GI Joe fitness buffs, Cobra Commander comes out of retirement to lead Cobra once again, this time to FATTEN THE WORLD!" "Introducing the Cobra L.A.R.D!" (Long-range Armored Rectal Destoryer). This was made from a Cobra HISS II tank body, repainted butter yellow, with gun-metal and black accents for other parts. Play-butter sticks were added to the sides to feed the Cobra Butter-blaster and Grease Gun, I used a plastic container of putty with the front cut out, and top sanded down, and then added plastic wire housing to the sides to hide the sharp edges. I added a few spare-part guns for the front and flipped the main cannon over so that the Big Guy would fit in the "Bucket Seat", and added some other plastic findings for snack trays. I also carved out the back seat area, and sanded that down so it would fit the Hot dog roller ( from PlayMobil) and added some Cobra decals to make it more evil. The umbrella and bike for the hot dog stand fit in the cockpit. More on the driver it comes with in the next post. Last edited by InsaneCollector; 02-21-2022 at 11:20 PM.. Ha Ha. Might be the funniest custom in along time. Welcome to the 'tank. Loved the man boobs on CC. Nice detail. One reason I don't cosplay.

Our fearless leader, who's motivation is to now spread the wonder and the joy of delicious fattening foods and snacks and defame the Gi Joes because of their obsession with nothing but how much they can dead-lift, healthy protein shakes and their douche-bag like attitudes towards those that are not specimens of physical perfection.
Parts used: Street Fighter II E. Honda body. Playskool Combat Heroes Cobra Commander head and feet. Green-stuff for the suit, details and gauntlets. Twist tie belt. Plastic Dagger Nail and pin heads for the buttons and belt. Bondo for the sculpted details on the pants and other parts. Assorted acrylic and enamel model paints. A few progress shots and the finished product. |
