Its nice when things like that happen. Since he appears in the ROC novelization, I hold out a small hope we might see one (even if he is ROC style) soon. Thanks! |

A-ha, i fugured so.
Get some acrilics. They're cheaper than hobby paint, but work the same. Since acrilics can be diluted with water, you'll have an easier time to make details. And they get a good hold onto the enamels coat. Use them to sharpen the edges. For example, paint the pockets with enamels, but don't paint close to the borders, do it with the acrilics once the enamels are dry. Acrilics are way easier to work with. Enamels get sticky in a matter of seconds, that's why is so difficult to paint details with them. Btw, you run with luck. The chemical components of enamels are tricky, because some plastics wouldn't dry. This is based on the colour the plastic has. Luckily for you, red has no problems with enamels. So far, the problems appeared with grey, black and blue plastic. Of course, if the plastic has a coat of factory-paint, you'll be safe to work with. This happens only in the softer plastic zones. Example: I was painting some CC legs with enamels. The lower legs didn't dry, while the upper legs worked fine.

I'll look into that.
Thanks ren. So far the only problem I've had was with some silver on an attempted Sci-Fi custom. If he ever dries I'll post him up. (2 months and counting ) |

These look great. I would echo the comment about the smaller pics because the shot of all three customs wouldn't fit on my screen and it's a pretty big screen. The work itself is awesome though.

Those are cool! I wish Hasbro would make these for those of us who are not gifted enough to do so ourselves.

I'm afraid you're screwed. Silver enamels don't work well in plastic. I had the same issue with Manleh's gear, on the metallic parts, and Pilot Scarlett. The silver painting simply doesn't dry. Best advice, take a piece of fabric, and clean the figure, it will go off easily. You can buy metallic acrilics, but metallic hobby painture works better. I use a base of acrilic for thickness, and then a drybrush of Tamiya hobby painture.
